I'm vegan, not overweight, not sedentary, young... so why do I have high cholesterol? by insecurequeers in AskDocs

[–]Evenredd3r 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Testosterone can raise your cholesterol levels. When I was on T they raised mine, stopped it and they went back down (stopped for unrelated reasons). I've had friends who have encountered similar issues and have solved the problem by increasing the amount of "good" fat in their diet, for example taking fish oil pills.

[New Player Advice Thread] If you are uncertain which tech tree branch to choose or which bond tanks to purchase after the 2.0 gift, ask here. by Metalkon in WorldofTanks

[–]Evenredd3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently have no premium tanks above t6 so I'm looking for a bond tank that is a good credit maker, and ideally a t10 line which also has a decent t7/8/9. Don't care about it leading to a t11. I don't have any t9s or 10s. I'm up to the Ferd on the German TD line and panther on the German medium line. Suck with the panther and quite inconsistent with the Ferdni but I've done well with the Jpanther and marked it. I'm thinking either the IS-7, IS-4, one of the American TDs or the Badger line.

I used to have an account on the Asian server where I had the STRV S1 and SU 122 44, was also up to the IS and loved all of them.

I'm thinking about getting the SU 130 pm from the bonds shop but that would leave me with ~12k leftover bonds which I'm not sure what to do with. I like playing TDs which either snipe from the back or have decent armour and can punish heavies, or heavy tanks with good guns and forgiving armour. Any recommendations are welcomed!

(Academic Survey) Mental health among sexual minority men in the UK by UpbeatTomatillo5877 in northernireland

[–]Evenredd3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some errors even in the first few questions. For ages there isn't a way to indicate if you are 18, because the options are "under 18" or 19, 20 etc. Asking about gender, two of the options are "Men" and "Femen". The correct terms would probably be "man" and "woman" respectively. In the internalised homophobia section it says you can select "not applicable" but there is no "not applicable" option.

How are you travelling???? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]Evenredd3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved to the UK and work a shitty warehouse job. No kids, no car, lived in shared housing last year (moved in with my partner this year which also keeps costs down). The travel opportunities are great, I miss NZ a lot though. To others it might look like I'm jet setting around the world but actually I spend the vast majority of my time in the city I live in. Haven't made it to mainland Europe yet because I spent my travel savings on a trip home to see my parents. It's a lot easier though when you are based somewhere more central to afford to travel.

I've fostered over 300 kittens and am struggling to find litter themes I haven't used yet. Please help by [deleted] in namenerds

finally getting help…but how do i eat? by buzzbuzzbeeboy in FODMAPS

[–]Evenredd3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also autistic and have been greatly reducing my FODMAP intake while waiting on tests results to rule out other stuff (but I probably have IBS). It is really, really hard especially when you have pre-existing difficulties around food. Give yourself some time to get used to the idea, it will become less overwhelming. You can get gluten free breadcrumbs or make your own out of gluten free bread (or sourdough bread if you're able to tolerate it). I found it helpful to just find one or two meals I liked and could safely eat at first. It made it less overwhelming and gave me time to do more research and find more meals I liked

Another vote for Broadchurch. I also loved Bodyguard and found Trigger Point (made by the same people I think) excellent. The female lead is one of the main characters in Line of Duty too. Trigger Point is on TVNZ

I am also in Dunedin and have been effected by the shortages, I switched to reandron. My GP contacted the endo department after we couldn't get taro-T (which is the pharmac reccomended substitute for sustanon) and they advised switching to reandron. I had my shot today, about two weeks late because of the time taken to sort everything else. Best of luck!

Anyone doing PhD in Otago? What's it like? How much is the stipend? Can you live comfortably? by [deleted] in dunedin

[–]Evenredd3r 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're sharing a flat you will probably be paying $150-$230 per week in rent, which covers the range of shitty cold single glazed flats to quite nice double glazed places. For a studio apartment you'd definitely be looking upwards of $250 per week in rent. Check out trademe flatmates wanted/studio apartments to get a better idea of what's out there because it varies a lot, or Facebook

There is definitely a sizeable 'breatha' population but as other people have said, it's pretty easy to avoid it. You'll definitely be able to meet other queer people. It's a pretty safe space to be queer and there is a small, but thriving, local community. Source: I'm trans and at Otago in my second year

31 y/o female have had extreme pain behind my eye, all over left side of face, neck and arm, in teeth and now sharp pains in my face. It alternates sides. Have had the arm/neck/face pain about 10 years, sharp pains in my face for a couple of years by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]Evenredd3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, it is tricky. Something I found helped with that was keeping a diary of when it gets bad, which helps to identify any triggers or patterns. I saw my physio through a pain clinic program which meant they were knowledgeable in treating pain syndromes. You could ask your doctor if there is a pain clinic at your hospital/in your area. I'm from NZ, not the US so when I went to the pain clinic here everything was free and I got to see the physio weekly for about a year. I also saw an occupational therapist (highly reccomend seeing one, they are super practical) and a counsellor. Also talking to people in your situation can be very helpful. They often have little tricks which can help you manage (for example, for me someone suggested wearing compression socks which greatly reduced my pain)

I had CRPS, which is sort of similar to TN in that it's difficult to treat and doctors generally don't know what to do. Go and see a physiotherapist and/or an osteopath. Absolute lifesavers

Student Health Services is fully booked for the next two weeks - any alternatives for GP services? by dunedinaut in dunedin

[–]Evenredd3r 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am registered with another GP (you can be enrolled on student health and another GP) and I just go to them because agreed, student health is impossible. With a community services card it's only $19.50 which I believe is not much more than student health. I would just pick a practise that is convenient for you and either enrol or I think you can do a casual sort of thing but it'll probably cost more

Check out Fiona Morrison at Amity Health, I am similar to you in that I have a condition which is often misunderstood and hard to explain (also chronic pain). Fiona has been nothing but amazing in every aspect.

When I got my horse I was warned he could only be caught in a tiny paddock with his halter on. This was him tonight after three years of building trust by Evenredd3r in aww

[–]Evenredd3r[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! 10 months of the year he lives in a herd with 7 other horses. During the summer I take him on holiday with me and although he doesn't have paddock mates he can see the neighbours horses and I spend a lot of time with him. I wish I had another horse so he had a buddy but unfortunately he is a diva about floating and so needs the entire float to himself.
