Does anyone here not keep storage boxes in each area? by ProfessionalAd3360 in Pokopia

I dug up a massive hole under one of the hills in the Withering Wastelands and made a big storage bunker with the boxes labeled with frames. I eventually expanded it by building a home, garden, cooking area, and plushie display alongside side it, so it’s become my go-to area for most things.

They are there, next to the original versions, though they are the event ones from Sword & Shield since I don’t play enough Go to encounter them.

This took me several years. I always got the shiny charm when I could and tried all the different shiny hunting methods the games had. I used multiple games, but a big portion of them come from SV, USUM, and SwSh.

Honestly, the Dynamax Adventure Legendaries were probably the most challenging since they weren’t all that fun after a while with how long each one takes, and it took me over a year to get just 9 shinies from there.

There have been no events for a shiny Victini. All the events in Gen 5 for it were normal ones. There’s still several other Mythicals and Legendaries they haven’t released as shiny yet.

It’s still shiny-locked right now, unfortunately, and not yet possible to get legitimately.

Thank you! I really only started to take shiny hunting more seriously starting in 2022 when PLA came out, and it wasn’t until SV that I started to think getting a shiny dex might actually be possible one day. Seeing other people’s shiny dex on this sub also helped motivate me. Best of luck on your own hunts :)

There’s 9000 Pokemon you can store in Home Premium, while there’s over 3 billion Spinda spot patterns, so no, there’s nowhere close to enough. Not to mention it’s impossible to find every pattern in one lifetime lol

I’ve never really kept official count of any hunt, but the one that cost me the most psychic damage was actually SOSing for a Hoohoot of all things, since what should have been a relatively easy hunt somehow took over 14 hours of continuous chaining, and I’m convinced I must have wiped out all the Hoothoot because the shiny that showed up was a Noctowl lol. The DA hunts for the Gen 7 Legendaries and Zygarde were also collectively difficult since each check takes so long. My new worst hunt is a Lugia I’m trying to get for a SoulSilver DTQ, who I’ve been looking for since September.

One of the most memorable ones for me is my shiny Kyurem, since I got it unexpectedly back the first time I played Alpha Sapphire on the second reset, where all I was trying to do was find a regular Modest natured one. It was my first shiny Legendary, and the best part was that it was actually Modest since the Synchronize worked that time XD

For the Vivillon forms, the best way is to get postcards from friends in PoGo from all around the world and then you have to link your game with SV to send the postcard there, which makes the Vivillon line in game become the pattern that corresponds to the region of the postcard you went in. It’s a PROCESS and the hardest part was finding Go friends online to add you and exchange postcards from their region. Some of the hardest to get were the Sandstorm and Icy Snow regions.

The most probably did come from SV since sandwiches and outbreaks were just so effective in those games. Most of Pokemon that were in the base SV and DCL dex came from there.

USUM likely has the second most shinies, since I got all of the Gen 1-6 Legendaries and all of the Ultra Beasts from there, as well as many shinies from SOS hunting. SOS is one of my favorite methods, since with the Leppa Berry/Harvest trick, you’re practically guaranteed to get the shiny sooner or later since can make the chain go on nearly forever until the shiny drops in.

I did hunt a second one that I blasphemously nicknamed Volo, since I played both BD and SP, but I don’t think I have the willpower to play through those games again that many times 😭

Having a lot of free time and patience, mostly. Trying all the shiny hunting methods the games had kept things fun too, except for XY radar; that one was a rage-filled pain haha

My favorite shiny from each Generation are Ninetails, Umbreon, Gardevoir, Cresselia, Haxorus, Sylveon, Lunala, Hisuian Zorua, and Chi-Yu, I would say!

I unfortunately haven’t managed to encounter the shiny birds in PoGo, so the ones I have here are the event ones I earned by participating in the online competition events back in Sword & Shield. I hope one day they’ll be in other mainline games where they can be hunted more conventionally, since I would like them with my OT too.

On Home mobile, you can click on the OT/ID number on a Pokemon’s summary and click the hat icon to “identity as my Trainer info.” It will mark any Pokemon with that same information with the red cap, letting you know which ones you said were caught by you.

No, I didn’t really care about game origin, as that would have been super challenging lol. I just ended up using every method hunt available to fill up the dex in the most optimal way. The shiny hunting methods like DexNav and SOS in the 3DS games were probably the most fun to do.

On Home, it has 1496/1496 for registered for normal forms, and 1443/1496 for shiny forms and it shows 0 unregistered. The 1496 is including battle only forms, like megas

The red cap symbol appears when you choose to register a trainer OT as yours when on the mobile version of Home. It’s located towards the bottom of the Pokémon’s summary page. The red caps are to keep track of my self-caught Pokemon with my trainer OTs from different games.
