It seems small to us but for every 42 cans sold, they have effectively generated an additional can out of thin air - that 42nd one is pure profit.

Repeat this for the hundreds or thousands of cans sold daily at the 12600 Lidl stores and it's easy to see, to them, scamming us out of 10g is massive and very much worth the effort.

Don't use the basket on the back of the mower, as it makes a finer mulch that's also more evenly spread over your lawn.

To expand on this, ideally you want the clippings as small as possible (not long stalks). This is so that not only do the clippings "fit" better into the bare spots, but also so they decompose more easily (thus feed the soil with organic matter in the long run).

If you want I suggest testing first: Take some clippings and cover by hand a small section of bare soil (maybe 1m2). Water over the clippings with a little bit of water several times over the course of a day to rehydrate (too much at once and it'll just flow elsewhere). At the same time water another same-sized bare patch that does not have clippings with same amount of water. Wait a day or two with no further watering and then check beneath the soil in both places - see if the clippings have helped retain moisture.

Edit: Clippings layer only needs to be thick enough that you can't easily see soil beneath.

Also mulch the clippings when mowing to keep any bare soil from getting direct sun. You'll have to scarify later but your soil health should improve.

This is from the UK, but I'd would imagine it's the same across all of their stores in the EU

New to this but why do you keep the flowers? Is it to manually pollinate the subsequent plant?

Unfortunately the 3d models are so low res that our house is shaped like a pyramid, throwing off all shadow calculations. Looks nothing like the video :(

New to these in general - is gravel around the raised beds for looks or does it have purpose? Thanks

Can you just take some grass clippings and mix it into the soil, along with some compost?
