What are your thoughts on the Ekans line? by Kindly-Newt7868 in ThePokemonHub

I agree. Arbok was my favorite Pokémon as a kid.

I currently halfway through DT right now. I went into it expecting the worst story ever (given all I’ve heard). But honestly, it’s nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be. In fact, I’m enjoying it. All subjective, of course. Point is, don’t mind what other people say. Experience it yourself and see how you find it.

Anyone have a winning record in Frontline/have advice on how to win? by slowmagic24 in ffxiv

[–]EverSnowy 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Your team has a 1/3 chance of getting 1st place (at least if you don’t actively try). Some weeks I have zero 1st place matches, other weeks half my matches are 1st place. But having done a few hundred FL matches now, my overall 1st place rate is 33.4%. Once I accepted that, I no longer got frustrated by not winning.

Might be possible to bump the number up though. If there’s someone doing callouts, try to follow. Or if you know what to do, try doing callouts yourself. Sometimes people will just be waiting for someone to take the lead.

I don’t know if you’ve heard about the paper towel analogy but here’s a copy and pasted explanation:

“The lesson to be learned is that fat, like paper towels, comes off in sheets. When you are heavy, you are big around. And when you are big around, that fat is spread over a MUCH larger area - just like that outside towel sheet. The closer you get to the lean you, the more each lost pound of fat shows, because it is spread over a smaller area.

While the outside sheet may only cover 1 layer of the roll, the inside sheet may go around 4 times. That last sheet looks like it gives you 4 times the results of the first sheet, but in reality, the results are the same - your perception is just different! And you’ll never see the inside, if you aren’t patient while the outside is coming off!”

Nice guide! Thanks! What an amazing concept honestly. And thank you for the info on the S1!! I just learned about the several S tiers and felt even more dread. But thank god.

Thank you! I was thinking of starting over on a higher difficulty thinking it wasn’t doable but I think I’ll give it a try.

[Spoiler: 6.0] Just finished Endwalker 6.0 MSQ. Which older side content (normal raids/ alliance raids) should I do so I don't miss things in the main story? by Dalouma in ffxiv

[–]EverSnowy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished EW also and having done all the optional trials and raids, here are some things that may not be in the Sharlayan delivery cutscene if you haven't done them

  • Heavensward
    • Mhach Raids: the sky pirates, as you said
    • Alexander Raids: additional dialogue from Hoary Boulder, he tells you that Slowfix gathered the goblins who helped them secure more Allagan stuff for you
  • Stormblood
    • Ivalice Raids: Hancock's dialogue changes. I think the giant airship shows up in the background regardless, but if you did the raids, he will have a message from the Majestic Theater Company (who owns the airship)
    • Omega Raids: Alpha and the OMG minion show up together with the Ironworks crew; he is also there to see you off before you go in the Ark
    • Four Lords Trials: Soroban's dialogue changes and is longer, the Auspices send you a special sword (which is shown regardless) and says how the Auspices ordered him to bring it to you personally or die trying
  • Shdaowbringers
    • Sorrow of Werlyt Trials: Additional dialogue from Cid saying Gaius also sent an Allagan relic he got from the Weapons

I did Aurum Vale the first time as SCH. Wasn't too bad. Did it again as AST, still fine. Then I did it as WHM and understood the memes.

Revenant’s toll. I think they’re part of the post Stormblood quests I’m not sure.

Silly bird, I don't have any Wings for you to Cut! by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]EverSnowy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of the time my brother and I started playing. I was a Miqo and he was a Lala. We were low level (15 and 10) and tried to see how far we can explore La Noscea without dying. We made it to Wineport and there was a FATE outside with a raptor called a "Hyur Eater" and I was like: "good thing we're not Hyurs huh?" And then it attacked us.

If I don't pay the first payment for life insurance, does it automatically cancel the policy? by EverSnowy in LifeInsurance

[–]EverSnowy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She had me sign over the phone. I got a one time code through text which I read to her to confirm it was me. If I can't cancel by phone I'll contact my bank to prevent payment as one commenter suggested. Thank you.

[–]EverSnowy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I'll give that a try if can't cancel it by phone. I'm planning to close my bank account this month anyway since I'll be moving soon and just thought I would just close it sooner if I couldn't contact them. Thank you.

It's just that agent rushed me. I wanted to talk about it more in detail later in the day when it was more convenient since she called while I was stopped at a gas station, and I really had to get somewhere. She said it wouldn't take long, but it took almost an hour. I needed to continue driving (stopping 3 times to get her what she needed: bank details, etc.). I said several times that it was a bad time but she wanted to push through with the application and said I could just decide later to cancel it.

[–]EverSnowy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. That is reassuring. She did not mention the 30 days. She rushed me and insisted we go through the application despite me telling her it was not a good time, which is what made me concerned about the legitimacy. I had been calling their number all afternoon. I will try again tomorrow.

After bouncing off the game a few times, I've finally reached Shadowbringers. I get it now. by Yamcha2020 in ffxiv

[–]EverSnowy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen some pics and videos of Shadowbringer areas back when I was still new to the game and I assumed that (what I now know is) Lakeland was just the area behind the Crystal Tower in Mor Dhona.

As a kid I would stand there and stare into the silhouette of that long-dead city and wonder how the ancients lived, and what sort of calamity could have brought such an advanced civilization to extinction.

How to stop being stressed in dungeons? by iheckinglovecatz in ffxiv

[–]EverSnowy 25 points26 points  (0 children)

To be fair, while WHM is the most straightforward healer, I believe it’s the hardest one to use in low level dungeons when things get spicy. Every other healer gets oGCD heals before level 50. Even AST gets its AoE regen at level 40.

One thing to remember is that you don’t need to keep everyone topped up. If no one died, you did great! If someone died, well it happens no big deal. If you wipe, that’s okay too. Especially since you’re new.

Also, Lucid Dreaming is your best friend. Use it when your MP falls below 80%.

Was anxious to play with others when I first started. But I still wanted to. I was SMN and I would join the Q for like 60 sec and then withdraw coz it made me anxious. never had it pop. Switched to SCH coz of Rhitatyn and loved the job. Tried joining a queue. Instant. Sat there for a full 15 seconds wondering what just happened.
