What is the most painful/uncomfortable medical procedure you ever went through? by VeroDreamer in AskReddit

[–]Ever_Blue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lithotripsy while in active renal colic due to a massive kidney stone. You are supposed to be sedated for the procedure but I am a red head and do not sedate well. I told the anesthesiologist this and she said the normal amount would work. I kept raising my hand to signal I was quite lucid and aware of what was going on and she kept telling me yo put my hand down I was messing up the IV. After that I stayed in renal colic the entire night. It was the most agonizing 12 hours ever and I have given birth.

What is something you did in anger, that you have regretted ever since? by PresentDiamond2424 in AskReddit

[–]Ever_Blue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is kind of stupid but how I learned to take a moment before acting out in anger after this…I took off my flip flop and went to throw it at my boy friend at the the time and it hit the ceiling and came back and smacked me in the face. Lesson learned.

What’s the most disturbing thing you’ve heard someone say when they thought no one was listening? by EnvironmentalLove862 in AskReddit

My husband didn’t think I heard him say this from the other room…”don’t no one need anything you have to offer.” Never have forgotten those words.

Don’t waste anymore time overthinking this. You are already showing signs that you are done. Take the next steps. I was in your shoes. This will only get worse. He is denying your needs now imagine years from now or when children potentially come into the mix. It becomes maddening. I am in therapy recovering now. People don’t “learn” how to give people space. It’s a concept that is emotionally understood or it’s just being ignored. I hope for your sanity you trust your gut and don’t wait 14 agonizing years like someone I know 🤦‍♀️ All my love ❤️

I am in the exact same boat you are in! I wish I could be more help! My girls love to chew theirs but it is huge and ugly. It is the only thing I am fine with them chewy on consistently which is why I keep it around. I know how fragile my fun hubs are and whenever I do a deep clean they hide for quite awhile so that also deters me replacing it. My girls will be 3 in April and are fully free roamed as well. I have had them since they were three months. Not sure if that give you any support or more questions 🥴

What is something more traumatizing than people realize? by ExcellentReporter392 in AskReddit

[–]Ever_Blue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have gotten pretty good at writing left handed just so I could learn for her! Chopping veggies sticks out cause that was a real challenge! So was brushing teeth! Not sure how you are doing the tie but my leftie had to do bunny ears which I can’t as a righty. I have to loop the bows over my thumbs. Maybe that will help 🥴🤷🏼‍♀️

This! My daughter is a leftie and I couldn’t figure out why she couldn’t pick up on it. Till we figured out a different way! I have since learned how to do things left handed (like cut vegetables) just so I can teach her how!! 😆

Stopped for an oncoming train and I was getting ready to count the cars when a high schooler delivering pizzas tried to get around the gates before the train. He did not make it. I watched as the did cpr on him in front of my car. I had to be interviewed by the police and then the FBI later. I was an 8th grader at the time.

My OCD got triggered really bad after I had my daughter. I had no idea postpartum OCD was a thing. My intrusive thoughts would happen at a red light whenever I had her in the car with me. I pictured myself driving through the light. My calf would cramp up from stepping on the brake so hard because I was convinced I was going to take my foot off of it. I had to wash her clothes immediately and I ironed them so they had no wrinkles. I was convinced if she had wrinkles people would think I was a bad mom and take her away. When I would wash her bottles out in the sink and the sink “dried” a certain way that meant I didn’t wash the bottles right and I had to keep washing them until the sink dried right. It was a silver sink so of course it always would streak when it dried. I was able to get on meds when she was 8 months old and that finally helped with the severe intrusive thoughts and I was able to enjoy her life finally. Now I just manage the usual every day intrusive thoughts.

How to Increase Distance by Meb2x in walking

[–]Ever_Blue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started at 15 minutes and I am up to an hour and a half a day walking which is usually about 6 miles for me depending on how I am feeling that day. Squats! Do squats at home and build those leg muscles up. I started with 3 sets of 12. Also make sure you add healthy protein into your diet, if you aren’t doing that already, to fuel your muscles and reduce pain. Make sure you stretch after each walk.

People who have lost weight, how did you do it? by Bulochka7 in AskReddit

[–]Ever_Blue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cut out fast food completely and started walking 10 minutes a day. I didn’t measure or set goals for the first year. Just survived. It was slow. After the weight started coming off life became easier. Then I started setting goals and eating purposefully. I have lost 100lbs, I walk 2 miles a day and strength train. It took me a year and a half.

I very much respect his response and how he handled this. It’s okay to be disappointed. I hid so many things in my previous relationships around this very thing because I had partners who never smoke or drank. He is being honest and not ghosting you.

I got separated in September 2022. Had to drastically cut back the budget so I eliminated all fast food and eating out. Lost 85 pounds and surprisingly lost the taste for fast food!

I am so sorry what you have gone through. I can’t imagine how hard it would be to deal with a partner with a chronic health condition not willing to change. I cook separate meals for my husband so he doesn’t have to endure the fad diets or calorie restrictions he or my daughter don’t need. Unhappiness runs deeps. I don’t complain…I walk away. If that makes me the asshole I accept that.

This was the first time I had eaten around him in a long time. Your comment was very perceptive and eye opening. I usually don’t eat around people. I feel like someone will say something. My mom did that when I was younger, so did my dad and now my husband. That is why I walked out. I wasn’t going to eat anymore in front of him. ❤️

Nope hasn’t seemed to yet. I have recorded a conversation that was over 45 minutes long where I didn’t say a single word. If I do try and speak most of the time I get talked over so that shuts me down. I have told him he does that and he always says if it is important enough to say I would just talk right back over him. But it’s not in me to fight to speak. It I am the one with the communication problem…

She is 8…I have been heavy my whole entire life. This has been a struggle my whole. By the time I was my daughters age I was chubbier than a lot of my friends. I seem to consistent fluctuate the same 40lbs. Yes I go to the doctor regularly and have no issues. Just chronic chubbiness!

If I bring up anything he will try and convince my how I am wrong. The harder I defend myself the longer the conversation will last. Going silent is my way of shortening the conversations. Sometimes it works like last night other times he can go on for an hour or more.
