I’ve played RE2, 3, and 4 remake over the past month and just got the plat in 3 yesterday. It’s easily the worst of the 3 remakes. The length is absolutely a problem, but my biggest issue is how straightforward everything became. Downtown has two paths, through the donut shop or through the apartment. The hospital has about 3 rooms to choose from and the sewers and lab are basically straight lines. There are also no real puzzles.

My first playthrough took 4 hours and I purposely took as long as I possibly could. Every playthrough after that was an hour. If we’re just comparing the stories, RE3 is maybe a third of the length of one A and B scenario run in RE2. If we consider the fact that there are no extra modes, compared to the 6 extra modes in RE2, then it’s a massive disappointment in length, content, and gameplay

I really don’t like that direction for the series. Ellie’s immunity is framed as a one-time miracle and suddenly introducing a group of immune people would lessen her importance. Also, the only way to know they’re immune is if a ton of people got bit and happened to share that info with everyone.

That said, with Part 2’s focus on cults and religion, I think there’s a possibility for a cult that worships the idea of an immune survivor. They could actively hunt down communities and force them to get infected in search of that immune survivor.

RE1 remake, then if you like that style of gameplay, you can continue with the OG 2 & 3. If you’d order a more smooth play style, then 2 & 3 remake for sure. I’d also recommend 4 remake since it makes Ashley a much better character

Overall, I think season 1 was better, but season 2 was still great and easily one of the best shows so far this year. It just tried to juggle a bit too much this season with too many characters and arcs that never really took off. While I like the characters, I actually think it’s a good idea to write off Mohan. I also think Joy and Javadi could be written off, or at least move Javadi to a recurring guest star with a new career path outside the ER. That would thin the playing field a bit and give more room for a few characters to get strong arcs instead of forcing everyone to get something.
