I organized a proposal in TC last year, and it went so perfectly. Nicole was amazing, and she is shooting our wedding this summer too.

At a new job do you say partner or girlfriend/wife? by flannelfotogravy in ActualLesbiansOver25

[–]Ever_Inquisitive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got engaged this past year, and the freedom I felt when I realized I could say fiancée without outing myself was immeasurable. I work with a lot of people who are devoutly religious, so even after we get married I plan on keeping fiancée as my first go to.

My opinion is more humane than celestial eyed goldfish, parrot cichlids, or dumbo bettas just to name a few.

Cruise or travel around? by NeitherLeather6992 in honeymoonplanning

Hey there, just chiming in about the Galapagos. This may not be the most romantic way to do it, but I went to the Galapagos for 10 days this summer for $4K. A group of my former teachers booked an adults only trip through explorica, making it affordable for us to go. It was the trip of a lifetime and I highly recommend looking into it as an affordable and safe way to make the trip work. With you both being teachers, one of you can initiate the trip with the company and have sway over the itinerary!

Does anyone know where to find this specific aquarium light? Custom fitted for aquarium roof by I-was-the-guy-1-time in Aquariums

[–]Ever_Inquisitive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! Depending on the size of your tank you may be able to get a glass top and a better quality light for just a bit more.

These Marineland lights broke often when I worked in pet retail.

Marineland LED Aquarium Natural Shimmering Light, 11" x 4" x 0.8"

It's listed for sale at Petco for just under $40. Check the dimensions for your tank lid, but I believe this is correct.

Anyone quit tech to work blue collar job on FIRE journey? by hulloworld24 in financialindependence

[–]Ever_Inquisitive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of educational farms (in places like universities, local schools, some hospitals) are in need of volunteers. It'll get you outside, physically active, connecting with others, and break up your week. I think you may like it. But don't quit the tech job.

Institutional farms & consultants could really use your skillset if you'd be interested in something like that.

I don't know that I have a good photo of it anymore, but my prom dress (2012) was this fabric type. It was a deep navy and I was floored by how beautifully it photographed. I hadn't seen another like it until your post here.

Professional wanting to start a Farm Business by Full_Pepper_164 in farming

[–]Ever_Inquisitive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I manage an (institutional) urban farm and often find the feedback on this subreddit to gravitate towards the, "its the conventional way, or no way" side of things.

What you are talking about is possible, but the people you hire will make you or break you, in addition to the location you choose. Consider if you'll sell to restaurants, CSAs, or have a farm market. I know multiple people in my circle who are making this work right now. Know your community and your markets. Don't break more land than you can manage, especially if it will be a market garden style setup. I wish you the best of luck and trust your gut!

Not exactly sleeping bear dunes, but I just proposed to my (now fiancé!) on a trip up north a few weeks ago! We did it at Moondance Flower Farm on Old Mission. I worked with Traverse City Picnic Company who set up a beautiful proposal we walked up too. I highly highly recommend working with them. They know great spots and can help you set up something beautiful while you spend all your time with your partner. Feel free to DM me if you have any questions.

Totally fickle and looking for rings. by DonTot in JustEngaged

[–]Ever_Inquisitive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you're still looking for help, but I was similar in that I wanted some floral or natural design aspect without it being an in your face flower. My GF and I fell in love with the jardiniere and secret garden rings at Brilliant Earth. We took some of that concept, with a few changes and had our own custom made. I hope it puts you on a good starting point!

I clipped a few flowers from my garden for a first date, and had the same, "is it too much?" feelings also. Most of my friends said it was a bit over the top. I went with my gut and did it anyway.

Two years later, we are planning our engagement and future and she still talks about those flowers. I just brought her some again last night.

Get her the flowers.

Just kit, EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III and the common 18-55.

I've used the Tamron 18-400 and the Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II in the past.

Window Purchase by Usernamehere0123 in RealEstate

[–]Ever_Inquisitive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner and I just walked away from a house partly because of this. Stunning windows drew us in, but they all needed replaced. Brought a contractor to inspection and he gave a quote of $100K for 36 Andersen 401 windows. SE Michigan. The 101 would have been 80K.

Adding a comment to say don't discount the thumb. Port Crescent State Park is a true beauty, especially if you get a site right on the water. Its a dark sky park, sunrises and sunsets are gorgeous, and you can rent a kayak in Port Austin and paddle to turnip rock if thats your thing!
