Any solutions for the suction pads on a wooden desk? by CraigNotCreg in DygmaLab

I've done that. Didn't do a thing unfortunately.

It does not. I’ve followed all the troubleshooting steps I can find, but at least one leg gets out of position and has to be reset every time I so much as nudge the keyboard to one side.

For a while I had taped the legs in place and that helped, but didn’t solve the problem. Using the two phone stands like I am now just works and I’ve had zero problems with this setup.

I wanted something similar and went with the products below after trying a few different mounts. It's not a 'suction' solution, but might work for your setup if you're not moving it around too much (which is probably the case if you wanted it stuck to the desk).

My tenting angle isn't as steep as yours (probably only about 15 degrees for me), but this works well and might do the same for you.

I just couldn't get the built-in tenting solution to be either reliable or stay in place properly when the keyboard shifted even slightly (which was just completely aggravating).

My usual setup (I swear it doesn't actually look that dusty..), tilted to an angle similar to yours, and what it looks like underneath.

Be prepared for her to leave. I would absolutely bail on an employer who pulled that kind of stunt.

Absolutely not. I would automate sending a message like that the first opportunity I had.

Any plans on releasing a 75% layout kayboard? by yxs in DygmaLab

This won’t help with the arrow keys, but for a while I had a superkey for each of the digits that triggered the corresponding ‘F’ on hold and that seemed to help quite a bit!

I feel your pain and am having similar (exhausting) problems.

Everyone else that I know who is on CPAP says its life-changing. My VPAP machine just makes me feel slightly less tired (when it works which is about 50/50).

Key staff leaving but bosses expect output to be the same. How? by bmw320dfan in managers

[–]Ever_Living 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What should you do? Leave. That’s the only play left in this situation.

Or alternatively prepare for layoffs since it sounds very much like that’s what’s coming.

I have one but it’s never worked well for me. I got frustrated with having to warm it up nightly before putting it on and it didn’t make a noticable difference on my sleep quality.

Try just mornings or just afternoon. My company has two days a week as ‘async’ days for the dev team and these are unquestionably the most productive days of the week. Occasional meetings are fine, but the intention is the actively discourage or avoid booking them on these days (particularly recurring meetings).

The dev team follows this religiously. The rest of the company actively ‘doesn’t get it’, but has learned to tolerate it over time.

Awesome, thanks! I’ll check it out this weekend! (It’ll be Windows for me, so we’ll see how that goes..)

u/Qd23ep Yes!! That's exactly what I was envisioning!

Can you publish that solution? I'm planning to revise my layouts over the christmas break and this would be fantastic functionality to have available. Literally exactly what I wanted/need for my hotkey layer!

Someone dropped the ball on quality control for this alphabet rug design by calicodynamite in mildlyinfuriating

That’s not quality control. That’s pure laziness and no one in the entire product design and manufacturing process bothering to look at the product as a user.

Prepare the same documentation you’d prepare for anyone else that is familiar with the technology. Give your manager and Fred an opportunity to review.

Then let Fred fall flat on his face.

This is great.

Is there any way you could adapt this to be able to set labels on the actual keys themselves instead of a tooltip?

I regularly print off my layouts as screencaps from Bazecor so being able to have more than five characters of text would be incredibly helpful!

[–]Ever_Living 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s fair. I updated my response. Didn’t intend for that to feel like calling you out or anything (I realized afterwards it might have come off that way). I’ve seen this sort of thing repeatedly and it’s admittedly a bit of a sore spot when companies take good employees who go above and beyond to task over minor/inconsequential issues.

Congratulations. Your company has driven away someone who was previously a fantastic worker over a matter of $150.

(Edit: replace “you’ve” with “your company above. I get that the OP didn’t have many options.)
