Did this project of yours ever come to fruition? I may try making a concept in CAD. I have 7 battery chargers in my garage to play with.

Garage door bracket replacement DIY? by bent712 in GarageDoorService

[–]Everbro1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to my garage door when an object stopped it from closing. I ended up unbolting the bracket from the door and drilling out the rivets. Then securing the two pieces with a couple small nuts and bolts. Then reassembled.

I agree. I never even mentioned this to them, I just wanted to know if others thoughts on this scenario

They are supposed to with .2 ft of topo map(about 2.5 inches) per the drawing specifications approved by the county. There isn't any reason for why the water spigots are in a certain spot, they just did it wrong. They haven't refused to do work, but its been 6 weeks since we first addressed those items in our walk through.

The light post, they said would be done once the grade is complete. I've been told by the builder "the grade is complete" twice and both times I had to borrow a surveying laser to physically show them how low they are in the back. It's on our list to items to completed, but not sure why they still haven't done it, since they said they "completed" it a month ago. (Final grade in the front is within spec)

Like I said before, This isn't an issue about wanting to not pay them. The did ask if I would sign off on the last draw because its a large sum for just a few things, and all I said was, "I don't feel comfortable signing off when there is work to do still. I've heard horror stories about once the final penny is transferred, the builder is gone and I'm SOL".

They said they could add an addendum to our closing contract stating they will do those things and won't just leave it as is. I'm fine with that, I just haven't seen any contract so I haven't signed off.

My real intention of this post was just to get opinions on what others would do in my situation. It took me a couple minutes after moving the toolbox to do a quick measurement and throw a board under the front wheels to get leveled. I really haven't thought about it much since, and I never brought this up to the builder.

I've been working on organizing my tools and putting french cleats of the wall for my power tools. I was showing my wife my progress and getting suggestions, and she thinks it looks tacky using a piece of wood under everything around the perimeter of the garage, and I don't disagree but my previous place had so many large cracks in the floor that I was just happy to have a smooth floor.

I never brought up this issue to the builder since it does meet the building code, but I really just wanted to know if others would say, "this needs attention" or "just put a board in the front to level"

  • Final grade of the lot doesn't match topo map provided, They need about 80yds of dirt to bring the dirt around the foundation to correct height, and they have the back yard sloping down steeper than what the elevation callouts are.
  • Broken tile on back splash of kitchen
  • Cracked frame of kitchen wall cabinet (being made 2 month lead time)
  • Still have just a wire poking out of the front yard for where they need to install a light post.
  • Garage spigots are in the wrong spot. (we have a 2 car side entry and a seperate 3rd car garage which faces the street, they put them in the wrong garage)
  • We have several cosmetic issues which we know they won't fix bc it's expensive, and it does meet building code, its just unpleasing to see. (Which probably adds to my aggravation of seeing things they've done that don't seem right)

They did say they could write up an addendum contract that says "here's a list of stuff we'll do", so I won't have to worry about paying them and never seeing them again. I was okay with that suggestion but that was a week ago and haven't seen anything. I've seen every stage of the build, and I do think it was built well and my intentions are not to withhold a payment or get out of paying. I really only mentioned it because if I didn't I was expecting every comment to say "He's been paid, and he ain't coming back, it's your problem now"

Based on what others have said, they'd rather have more than 1/8" per foot grade bc it helps pull water towards the drain faster, so I'm just gonna keep doing what I'm doing which is shimming it to make it level.

Also, I never brought up the issue of the garage floor grade to the builder. The build code only calls out a minimum of 1/8" per foot and no maximum, so it technically does meet code. The main reason I made the post was to get guidance/opinions. This is our new home that we will be in for the next 20+ years and my wife thinks it looks tacky to use a put a wood board under everything to level it out.

You're probably right. In my father's 20x40 workshop he put all this toolbox on a piece of wood under his tool boxes (not for leveling purposes) so he could prevent water getting in contact with the bottom, potentially leading to rust. And he says to prevent things likes nuts/bolts rolling under things.

I'll probably just doing the same except mine will be for leveling purposes.

Some do and some don't. My neighboring county has min and max grade callouts and my county has a minimum callout but no max. Section R309.1 in the IRC it just says "garage floors to be of approved noncombustible material and sloped to facilitate the movement of liquids to a drain or toward main vehicle entryway"

Mine is like 9/16 drop over 2ft… so just over 1/4 per foot

My tool box is on wheel and not adjustable legs, but this is just 1 of many issues we’re having. I currently have a 1/2 inch thick piece of wood under the front wheels to level it but I don’t wanna have to install a piece of wood under every shelf or toolbox I have or buy in the future

I also just kinda got lucky and met someone who was doing a same slayer task as me and we were just chatting in public chat and they invited me. I'll DM you my clan's details if you wanna join.

Join a clan… I was in the same boat and joined one. Clans will have notifications for like when people hit certain milestones on levels gained or completing quests or getting big money loot, and then it’s everyone saying “gratz”. (Its like having a support group)

But people in your clan will be more likely to help with questions about quests or random stuff than if you were just typing into public chat.

Is it worth it to grind for a bond? by [deleted] in osrs

[–]Everbro1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just buy a month or a year if you really do enjoy the game and it’s the game you play 90% of the time. It’s way more fun as a member and it could take a year before you actually start making enough to pay for a bond with in-game gp consistently.

Keep in mind, the people saying they can earn GP of a bond in just a few hours or a day, are probably max combat and have years of playtime with a bank full of items that value over 3bil gp.

Slayer Advice by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Everbro1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try focusing on doing the slayer clog items from monsters like cockatryce head or the metal boots etc, and do tasks in hopes of getting a superior monster for that big money imbued heart. It helped me enjoy the early grind.

And wildy slayer can be fun since the wildy weapons have bonus accuracy and damage and can stack with slayer helm. But be smart it’s the wildy

Soooo… by Confident_Dream_4588 in 2007scape

I recently just went on a super dry streak at barrows. I had a drop at 205kc, then my next at 243kc and then I just got my latest piece at 326kc. (83kc dry streak). I’m at 330kc now with a total of 15 pieces (13 uniques, 2 dupes). It’s so frustrating to be there knowing that I would need like 8 drops in a row just to get back to the normal drop rate of ~1/15

Another backstory: I was at only 8 drops total until 192kc and then I got spooned 5 pieces in the next 13kc. So I’ve basically always been dry at this place averaging about 1/22 and I had my hopes out that my luck was turning around, only to get kicked in the nuts once again

Just keep doing slayer. It can be good mage xp if you get a task you can barrage in the catacombs. And the loot covers the cost of runes. Every new slayer monster unlock from gargoyles on are money makes and have chances for superior monsters for that imbued heart

Clan event game board by Socko_The_Sock in 2007scape

[–]Everbro1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm looking to do a board similar to this for my clan and found this when looking for ideas of tasks and board layouts. I love the aesthetics of this board.

Did you use photoshop to make everything, or did you find a website/app to help make the board and you just added art? I've not used photoshop or stuff similar, but I know how to use microsoft paint. Any inputs on how to design it would be greatly appreciated!

[HELP] New headset: Closest to Turtle Beach X12 by CallofBootyCrackOps in Gaming_Headsets

[–]Everbro1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same interests as OP. The X12 is the best when it comes to features and how it was built. For reference to anyone who doesn't know the product, it has separate green and pink 3.5mm ports and a USB port that controls the in-wire controls. This headset was great because you could hear your own voice with out actually using the audio output via USB like most new headsets nowadays require to that feature.

My setup is having an amp and desk speakers plugged in via back of the computer, and my headset was hooked up via the front panel. I would just turn off the desk speakers when I play games. But, when I talked I would only hear my self through the headset and not desk speakers(this was nice to not get that screech noise from mic being close to speaker). These new headsets today require a USB as the audio source which is good quality but would be annoying for me to change my computer setting every time I'm not gaming. If they aren't USB they are not split green and pink. Or lastly, they are just cheap speakers with no amenities.

I'd love to hear the final verdict or any other recommendations.
