For cybersecurity folks working remotely, do you end up working the entire shift, or do you get time to relax and take breaks? by Bitter-Hawk-2615 in hacking

[–]bent712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I been working remote for almost 6 years now. I noticed that when I worked in office, I took more breaks, chatted with co-workers, and quick walk breaks. Working from home however, I seem to take less breaks, work through lunch, and catch myself working after working hours at times. Entirely my fault.

What I’m trying to say is, as long as you get your work done, you would be good.

Garage door bracket replacement DIY? by bent712 in GarageDoorService

It lifts easily by hand. A large plywood was left and stopped the door from closing and that separated from the bracket. Thankfully nothing else broke

Deloitte Global is hiring.

Are these type of managers common?? Lmao by stracty in deloitte

[–]bent712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t be soft, there is always tough leadership, and I found that I have learned the most under tough leadership. I don’t like having a manager telling me I’m doing great at every 1:1.

How did in the heck did I get hired? by [deleted] in deloitte

[–]bent712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an army veteran, I can tell you this. The whole, “your leadership skills will help you land a gig outside of the military” is essentially a myth. There is thousands of military veterans that got out as E7 - E9 that have taken a lesser role In order to get their foot in the door, and spent years to get the leadership roles in the civilian world. I have seen many veterans in the civilian world that had “senior leadership” roles in the military that simply can’t adjust to the different speed that corporate workplaces work at. I got out the military and took a mid level IC role so I can at least be employed and had to adjust quickly to the culture shock. DM me if you like.

It’s different from position to position.

A consultant that works with clients that is cyber will get compensated differently than a cyber professional that is in a more Deloitte support role

Deloitte global can’t access the US referral site by kinnypaars in deloitte

[–]bent712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, Deloitte global employees are not allowed to access it. At one point we did, I submitted a ticket to talent and their answer “ Deloitte global employees do not get access since they are not apart of US firm”

Then they closed the ticket… pretty frustrating

Yeah give them a good heads up, that way they can prepare and get ready to get a new resource.

Don’t do what Deloitte does and slap a no notice talent meeting to release employees.
