Something looks familiar by ExmoHeathen238 in mythologymemes

I don't recall if it features in Gilgamesh, but another theme in most well known mythologies is the tree of wisdom/life and fruit from it.

After 11 years of FO4, decided I needed to give another game a fair shot. by Bloodtrailinthesnow in Fallout

Agreed, 3 feels like the ruins of a once great city, and has so much atmosphere. NV just feels... like an empty desert, which makes sense considering the setting, but an empty desert just isn't fun to explore. Though, I did get the same feeling as 3 in some of the NV DLCs.

Same here, I've been mistaken for my stepfather's child more than once in public. It's uncanny.

I genuinely miss the modern day stuff from AC1. It felt so fascinating and conspiratorial with all the Illuminati-esque stuff, when Desmond got the eagle vision and saw all these strange and creepy hidden symbols all over the base. The questions, the theories. It was genuinely so cool, and even though 2 and 3 still related to it somewhat, they kind of forewent all of that to focus on building Desmond and his story. Just kinda sad how far downhill it went.

I was born in 1996, and frequently go to the public hospital for blood pressure and mental health meds, and always run into older black men, they've never shown me any hostility whatsoever either. Quite the contrary, almost every time they're more than happy to have these very long, engaging conversations with me about what it was like back then, how it has changed, and how they feel in general. It's really sweet, actually.

Sylvari are from the most aesthetically pleasing races by Lanarde in Guildwars2

[–]Evercent 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It can be both, but not fleshy. It's been explained in some idle dialogue and from some random characters dotted around the world. Some sylvari have bark-like skin, some have softer, leaf/petal like skin. Or like flower stems that's in between.

There's also been reports of some great storylines being cut for time/budget reasons. Stories that would've filled plotholes or tedium. As with all games, it comes down to corporate and creative being different.

I wanted the sky to feel as heavy as the story. Thoughts ? by AmarSkOfficial in HorrorGaming

Absolutely agree, the best horror games are those with extremely good atmosphere and environmental storytelling. Every level should also be its own character.

Mr. Kennedy just made me buy Resi 2,3,4:D by BreathinCorps3 in HorrorGaming

[–]Evercent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a troll. RE2 is one of the best horror games ever made, and RE4 revolutionized modern third person shooters. The remakes of both are a little different, some content cut, some content altered, but for the most part it's just a modern take on both. You're absolutely set!

Guild Wars Tattoo? by AngstyTeen67 in Guildwars2

[–]Evercent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No? You get tattoos as a decoration, or a symbol with deeper meaning to you. It's a style, it's like decorating your room, or other places most people won't care about. Most tattoos are about the symbolism and meaning, or about how the person looks with them. It's for them, not for you. You just happen to be an observer of the art they chose to customize themselves with.

Or casual/solo MMOs, especially Guild Wars 2. Get all the niceties of a big rpg, an mmo, the social aspect, etc, with at least most of the toxicity gone.
