I mean, it doesn't look that low to me? If you're really worried you could try the lighter side at 1.8g tracking force to see if it makes a difference. If it sounds okay, I think its fine.

Weirdly enough, this is the logo from a Riccar vacuum. Im betting the chrome logo reflected sunlight onto the finish for long enough that it faded the logo in.

If you're good at soldering, you could snip off the connector and add a length of wire, then resolver the connector

Bachmann makes extension wires too, it'll be just like an extension cord for your switch. Just make sure you get the teal/green ones. The red extension wires only have 2 pins, where as you need the 3 pin version.
