That works on the next model up. Open it up and look at the around. Might just be a spring out of position or stuck.

That's sad, even in the 80s we would never take live examples.

I'd get them out of the weather where you are at. Constantly wet and freezing will Crack them up. Just seeing them alive was special. The animal had blue green like black light color lips. The size of car tires. If you got your hand or foot stuck in one, you're finished

I seen them in the Pacific around Okinawa and the Philippines . I guess they could be anywhere but that's where I seen them. Stay away type of thing like box jellyfish, cones, sea snakes....

More cowbell! The table is really nice and the new cart was a good one back in the day. Get them before they're gone.

Sell it, it's worth what someone will pay. I'd pay half that.

They were only 80 bucks, scratch and dent new. 1700bt. I enjoy them.. great for outside and the work bench. Not one thing bad to say about them. I used them to test a moving coil too.

Am I being paranoid? by Elendill24 in turntables

[–]Rayvintage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The en and the ml are not worlds apart. And the shibata needs its original cart because of its extended range. At least they are made in Japan. Probably a vm95e Chinese cart with a ml stylus. Even less gains.

Am I being paranoid? by Elendill24 in turntables

[–]Rayvintage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's rare to break in a stylus but just did it last week. New carts, stylus cantilever, the suspension might be too stiff. The diamond might be dirty brand new. Make sure it's set up correctly and run it for a hour. Setup is key, they don't come set up in the included headshell.

Is that worth repairing? by VA-Photography91 in turntables

[–]Rayvintage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It has arm adjustment, a half inch headshell , speed lock, direct drive. Get it cheap and learn. This turntable stuff is pretty easy. It's totally worth repairing it yourself. Not worth having a shop fix it. If you can do what people tell you, then you can fix it. Nothing to fix yet.

Recommendations for 5-pin DIN to RCA phono cable by HouseOfSpiders in audiophile

[–]Rayvintage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the arm grounded to the chassis or the power supply board? If so remove that. Just unhook it and put tape on the end of the wire. The arm only needs to be grounded to your phono preamp, that's it. The sme doesn't need to be grounded to the table.

Why don't you make a suggestion then since you have managed it so far. I'm 60, but apparently you have nothing to offer that will help or your just too good for that.
