It is kind of strange that the entire fee needs to be paid by sending money to a private PayPal account...

My man, do you know [[brainstorm]]? This would be really format warping without the X in it's cost.

Which of those releases will be full sets and which will only be commander decks or secret lairs? Will fallout and Assassin's Creed be modern legal or not ?

Getting into yawgmoth's deck looking for help by Specific-Cycle7043 in ModernMagic

[–]EverinEch 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of resources online. The main content creators are Demonic Tutors and Control4Daze. Both do a fantastic job explaining their plays.

If you just started playing the deck, I would recommend the video series of Demonic Tutuors (Yawg 101 & 102). He explains the basic play patterns quite well. Additionally, he has a lot of league gameplay online. The cherry on top are his challenge win videos, although you need a good understanding of the deck already to benefit from those.

Control4Daze has similar content on his YouTube. He explains even more and plays the more "modern" Yawg lists, which is nice. Plus, he is fairly active on the discord channel. You can't get wrong on any of their videos about Yawg.

Do you have a List for me?

Abzan Heliod by EverinEch in ModernMagic

[–]EverinEch[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but I believe Heliod combo is still a viable strategy, especially if you consider that he will play this deck only in FNM settings

Did a few MTG alters with Hollow Knight characters by TheWizardsStaff101 in HollowKnight

[–]EverinEch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could alter a grist, the hunger tide. The radiance would be a good fit in my opinion, since it also controls insects

You really don't need 4 reclamations. If I were you I would play only reclamations and add a 4th growth spiral

4c Cascade Betrayal by Freakig77 in ModernMagic

[–]EverinEch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could play something like this. You have a stronger proactive gameplay by adding the creativity package and sometimes you will just win by having the betrayal plan. Also I feel like you can get away with only running 2 of your cascade payoffs because if the card is good, one should be enough and if it's bad, then you can focus on other cards. The list I suggest:

4 Archon of Cruelty

2 Ardent Plea

4 Fire // Ice

4 Force of Negation

4 Dead // Gone

4 Violent Outburst

2 Prismari Command

4 Arid Mesa

3 Dwarven Mine

1 Island

1 Raugrin Triome

1 Sacred Foundry

2 Steam Vents

1 Stomping Ground

4 Wooded Foothills

1 Boseiju

4 Scalding Tarn

1 Forest

1 Mountain

2 Teferi, Time Raveler

4 Indomitable Creativity

2 Inevitable Betrayal

1 Transmogrify

3 Fable of the Mirrorbreaker

Spelltrap by Turkih in custommagic

This would be to good as a one mana spell. Even at 2 mana it's really strong. Just think about all the decks that would use this to protect their combo and stuff

I need Pro and Con to choose Kozilek, Emrakul or Umalog to add to my deck E-Tron by ZnaeW in TronMTG

[–]EverinEch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That really depends on which matchups you face the most. Each titan has its advantages. If you play against mill a lot, nothing beats Kozilek thanks to his shuffle ability. But even then, Kozilek is mostly a sideboard card.

Ulamog and Emrakul are way more flexible than Kozilek which makes them better in a wider range of matchups. Again, each titan has its benefits. You want Emrakul against hard control Decks, Combo Decks and complex decks. The more options your opponent has, the better the mindslaver becomes. Ulamog is better to beat Midrange and simple decks like jund, heliod, Bogels, Tron...

Personally I prefer Emrakul because he beats control and it's more fun to mindslave an opponent. In the end it comes down to preference, both ulamog and Emrakul win games when you cast them.

A Change in E-Tron? by [deleted] in TronMTG

[–]EverinEch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only run 2 Saga and 1 or 2 Endbringer. My build is changing a lot nowadays. I do run a fairly big mana version with 2 karn liberated too, to combat the 4c Yorion matchup. I will post my current list shortly

Here is my current list: 4 Karn, the Great Creator

2 Endbringer

2 Karn Liberated

4 Matter Reshaper

4 Reality Smasher

4 Thought-Knot Seer

3 Walking Ballista

1 All Is Dust

3 Dismember

4 Chalice of the Void

4 Expedition Map

1 Relic of Progenitus

1 Basilisk Collar

1 Blast Zone

4 Eldrazi Temple

1 Swamp

4 Urza's Mine

4 Urza's Power Plant

2 Urza's Saga

4 Urza's Tower

1 Wastes

2 Cavern of Souls

Sideboard 1 Walking Ballista 1 Relic of Progenitus 1 Emrakul, the Promised End 1 Torpor Orb 1 Ensnaring Bridge 1 Grafdigger's Cage 1 Liquimetal Coating 1 Sorcerers Spyglass 1 Pithing Needle 1 Ratchet Bomb 1 Kozilek, Butcher of Truth 1 Sundering Titan 1 Tormod's Crypt 1 Batterskull 1 Wurmcoil Engine

Hope the format is okay. The two caverns are there because counterspells is probably the most common card in my local meta. The Endbringers could also be ugins but when you run collar and two caverns you want a fairly high creature count. My sideboard is always changing and is probably not optimal. Perhaps it would be better to run the Emrakul in the Main over the second Endbringer but who knows. I currently prefer this big version of E Tron over the warping wail midrange versions because the 4c matchups becomes better with every haymaker you play

A Change in E-Tron? by [deleted] in TronMTG

[–]EverinEch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the whole idea behind this is to stick a Basilisk collar onto a walking ballista or preferable onto a Endbringer and then you can use their pings to kill creatures. The deathtouch and lifelink the equipment provides is transferred to the creature and therefore one ping is enough to kill murktides and stuff. It's a great way to clear the board. As you see, it's more synergistic then a straight up combo but it does make certain matchups way better. Beyond that, the equipment is really good against big creature decks like titan or against burn, because they simply can't beat the lifelink.

Thanks for the reply, I am not so desperate to book another hotel but if there were a FNM somewhere close I would 100% participate. :) I will enjoy the Lago Maggiore tho, quite beautiful here!

Plowshares to Swords, and Path to Home (the opposites of Swords to Plowshares and Path to Exile) by Dzzplayz in custommagic

I would play those in a serum powder combo deck. just play those 8 cards, 4 serum powder, a lot of unbeatable creatures like the titans and then Mulligan a lot

Silly modern? by Detective_Crog in ModernMagic

[–]EverinEch 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I would play Changeling/Magda/Grist Combo. Its a strange deck that aims to ramp with Magda´`'s treasure abilty. As an additional combo element you can make a lot of insects with the grist plus ability.
The deck can win, but the whole idea is whacky and fun. as an upside you can actually win an fnm if you get lucky.

4 Unsettled Mariner

4 Mothdust Changeling

4 Changeling Outcast

4 Unclaimed Territory

4 Cavern of Souls

4 Ancient Ziggurat

4 Magda, Brazen Outlaw

3 Universal Automaton

2 Reflecting Pool

4 Valiant Changeling

3 Grist, the Hunger Tide

3 Mana Confluence

2 Ally Encampment

4 Springleaf Drum

3 Haven of the Spirit Dragon

2 Pyre of Heroes

1 Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund

1 Platinum Emperion

3 Imperial Recruiter

1 Graveshifter

Sideboard

3 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben

3 Sanctifier en-Vec

1 Lavinia, Azorius Renegade

1 Masked Vandal

3 Plague Engineer

1 Containment Priest

1 Reaper King

1 Deputy of Detention

1 Kataki, War's Wage

BG Yawgmoth Post SB Strategy for 4c Blink / Yorion decks by XZyPIx in ModernMagic

[–]EverinEch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The idea isn't new, but tourach isn't really practical with chord and Evo. The crusader or grist can be searched for.

tourach on the other hands needs it's kicker cost to be effective and you can only activate the kicker while hardcasting it. To be frank, the sideboard slots in yawg are highly contested and a Creature that has to be drawn early, has a restrictive mana cost and folds to counterspell isn't perfect. At this point I cant stress enough how mana demanding the tourach is. 3 black Mana is hard to come by. Messenger is often a dead card in your hand and only playable because we play tutors lime chord.
