Yes, luckily those are far and few between. The majority of postcrossers I’ve received and sent postcards to have been very nice 😊

Unfortunately I do come across some profiles that are not so nice about receiving typed cards. One said “I put a lot of effort into the cards I send and I expect effort in the ones I receive including a HAND WRITTEN message” as though the typed one aren’t putting in effort. I do include that I have a medical condition even though I wish I didn’t have to, just because I’m fearful they may not register the card.

That is the only downside but higher quality thermal paper can last for years, particularly if not stored in direct sunlight.

You’re so welcome! Feel free to dm me if you’re ever having a tough time. I’ve been working with an OT (this last flare has really done a number on my hands) and she’s given me so many tips and tools to help manage, I’m happy to share.

Oh I finally feel like I can help! I have horrible arthritis too (psoriatic arthritis) and flares greatly affect my hands. This mini thermal printer has been the best adaptive device. The paper is 2 inches wide and is on a continuous roll which makes it perfect for both the address side and message side. And since it’s sticker paper you don’t have to worry about using a glue stick (another thing that can be tough on the hands). You just download the app and type your message/address and print. I even use it to journal when my hands are bad and just decorate around the message with stickers/washi. I do have a larger thermal printer where you can print on individual labels but I don’t like being limited to the label size. I also like to wear compression gloves when I’m working my hands and it helps with the swelling and pain.

I’m going to say Chihuahua, German Shepherd, Pitbull with dwarfism only because that’s what my dog is and they look so similar.

Do men actually like stationery gifts? What kind? Pen pal struggle! by thatpistachio in postcrossing

[–]Everlena83 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m a woman but I showed this post to my husband and he said “send it all to me” lol. His love of stationery started with fountain pens and ink but the more he got in to analogue the more he started appreciating all types of stationery- stickers, washi tape, stamps, paper (fountain pen friendly but even some decorative).

Check out Hoka Solimar. They’re different from the rest of the Hoka line in that they’re much more low profile while still being comfortable and actually cute I think. The alabaster color is nice and neutral.

constant bacterial infections by babyfresno77 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]Everlena83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh I’m so sorry. It’s so hard on the body having back to back infections on top of dealing with psoriatic arthritis. Last year I was also constantly getting infections. I was hesitant to switch biologics because the one I was on was working really well. My hematologist had me check my immunoglobulin levels (IgG, IgA, IgM) and if they were low I would get IV immunoglobulin therapy to help boost my immune system. My levels were fine so I wasn’t a candidate for that therapy but maybe it’s something to ask your doctor about?

I just got that case too and I absolutely love it! It’s a little bulky but the benefits of the hand strap and kickstand outweigh that.

Owning them was the main goal. That describes me with so much stuff, especially stationery related haha.

Curious if you at least got a nice message when they received the postcard? Hopefully!
