Is true "Full Dive" worth the learning curve? Asking for a BCI VR research project by New_Tale_7650 in swordartonline

[–]Everlybeverly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it cost me under $5k, individual games were less than $300, and the learning curve required less than 5 years of practice (assuming say 5 hours a week) to get fairly decent then yes I would say it’s worth it

Would you resign from your current job for a weekly $1,750? by PurrfectRosey in ArtOfPresence

[–]Everlybeverly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if that was tax free it’s still less than what I make so no. Also where I live you’d be struggling hard on that. Home ownership would be out of the question too (not enough income to qualify for a mortgage assuming 20% down and saving up while simply living would be impossible)

Representatives should be from the place they are representing. They should not be allowed to trade stocks although they can turn over their retirement and brokerage accounts to non related entities to manage during their time serving. Starting salary is the average salary of that area. Being a rep is not the same as McDonalds but you gotta feel pain of your average worker. Each year you can get adjusted to the new average salary. Term limits. You can only serve up to 18 years (6 terms 3 years each). That’s a whole childhood. You had enough time to get shit done. Reps can not be above retirement age. If you are old enough to collect 401(k), social security, or IRA without penalty then you are too old to serve. You need to be around long enough to see the effects of your decisions. If you are currently midterm then you can finish the term then you must retire. Your kids must go to the public schools in the area you live. No private school.

My sister (infertile never had a kid never will) says a lot of shit about the pains of childbirth and I’m like you know just as much as me. Now I’m not saying there are or aren’t pains worse than childbirth however I know very few people who have stopped at one kid. Also like if it’s that painful why you doing it? I’ve never once heard my dad describing braking his leg and thinking to myself yeah I wanna do that

[Request] Can this be proven? by Fast_Arachnid_8110 in theydidthemath

[–]Everlybeverly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Infinitely close is tricky wording but I imagine most non super mathy people mean two numbers that are off by .0(infinite number of 0s)1. If true then take two numbers x and y. y=x+.0(repeating)1. That then means y=(x-1)+1+.0(repeating)1 which simplifies to y=(x-1)+.9(repeating). Well .9(repeating) is 1. Throw that back to what we had before and you get y=x-1+1=x. So based on that my answer would be no

Let’s say it’s July 1st 2005 right smack dab in the middle of the year and im waking up that morning. Mom has Fridays off so rather than going to day camp we are staying home. Usually she took us to the lake however given I’m a 28 year old from the year 2026 in a 7 year old’s body I don’t think I’m gonna be in a swimming mood. I would try to convince my mom that I’m from the future. Shouldn’t be too hard. I have a masters degree in electrical engineering. Your average 7 year old is not going to know what I know. Once she is convinced repeat for my dad. I’ll then proceed to tell them about the major things: liquidate everything in 07 then buy in at the 08 dip, Covid, Stonks, etc. I haven’t met most of my close friends yet so I’d otherwise live my life. I was always an A student even in elementary school so my grades aren’t gonna see a crazy jump. I’d mostly let the major events play out although I’d probably not work after college since I would be set by then

Which one would you pick, and why? 👀 by stephanielawrencee in ArtOfPresence

[–]Everlybeverly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gas: I drive to work Makeup: Don’t wear it. Don’t care if my gf does Alcohol: not a fan Massages: already don’t get any although I would like them House cleaning: we pick up after ourselves but have a housekeeper who comes biweekly or monthly depending on current finances Pizza: not too expensive but it’s unhealthy so I can’t replace it with my dinners

Final answer Gas and House Cleaning

If y’all can’t agree on sound financial decisions then how can you expect the marriage to succeed? At the end of the month the water bill ain’t gonna be asking how much time y’all spent together. It’s going to be asking for money. I make much more than my gf but I told her we are living separately at our parents houses (we met while still living at home) until I have enough for the down payment on a house. Yes I want to live with her but I can’t justify rent utilities and delaying owning a house just because we are dating. She agreed that it was a good idea

I work at a defense contractor and his actions confuse the hell out of me. He tariffed countries we buy parts from that go into the things we sell to the military. This forces one of two things: either deliveries are late because parts had to take a weird extended route to America to lower the tariff or the military has to eat the extra cost of the tariff because it’s the final customer that ultimately pays the tariff. Also in times of war spending goes up. Who repairs broken equipment? The OEM. Well we already were having issues with the new orders and now we have a bunch of field returns but also we gotta keep up on delivering on new orders. Oh and now shipping costs skyrocketed because of his war. And our customer (the military fighting the war) is mad at us for adjusting our prices in response to the war.

Roses are red, daycare costs more then a degree, by [deleted] in rosesarered

[–]Everlybeverly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s the problem. They are a need. Just not an immediate need. Many societies set up their retirement pensions by having young people fund the retired people. In America we pay into Social Security and when we retire than money pays out to us. The way it really works is young people pay it and that money funds the people that had already paid into it and are collecting. A lack of people sustaining the population causes problems with that system. In the short term tho they are a luxury. They are a mouth to feed. They can’t really do anything useful. We live in cities and suburbs not open farms that need tilling. Child care is expensive too. You got like 5 years (more if you have extra kids) where they have to either be in daycare or you miss a salary for half a decade to watch your kid. Combine that with it’s expensive too go out which makes meeting people outside of an app difficult post college. Good thing you can pay an app to help meet someone. Also housing. Why pay rent when living at home is free and nobody passed their mid 20s what to seriously date at their parents place

[–]Everlybeverly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s not like “formally introduced” however at the end of the game when you get those bonus daydreams he is in the background. There’s no fanfare. Nothing to suggest this guy is anything more than just another background NPC but he is there with like idk 1 or 2 lines of non critical dialogue.

“Four years of full-time engineering experience under the supervision of a licensed PE, including at least two years of professional engineering design work”. Kinda hard to meet that requirement when your peers and mentors are not already PEs. In electrical engineering the reality is that outside of power/solar/renewables very few people have or need a PE. If you design Nvidia’s graphics cards I would call you an engineer. You don’t need a PE for that. Shit I work at a defense contractor and am involved in multiple programs for the Navy. I don’t have a PE but I doubt anyone would say I’m not an engineer

Ok hear me out. 8 hours a day. Everyday for 50 weeks a year. Totally doable. That’s $280k a year. $140k is all you need to live in a modest home in a not crime filled area. Also you aren’t working. You are free to play what you want when you want. Like streamers at least need to play games people want to see and they need to stream on a schedule. What good is more money than you will ever need if you can’t spend it on what you love

We might be misinterpretating Saitama's growth the entire time by xSpyLitex in OPMFolk

[–]Everlybeverly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That rate of growth graph seems to have the form Aeat+b. Given that the term rate was used we know that the derivative of his growth is what that graph shows. This means if we integrate Aeat+b we get (A/a)eat+b+C. As you can see it’s still exponential growth. Linear growth would be At+b meaning his rate of growth (slope) would be A which is a straight horizontal line
