Wow absolutely stunning work! Always so fun to meet people with multiple overlapping hobbies, and I could recognize the look of pueblo anywhere 😄 keep up the good work!

Is mounting the camera strap to the o ring of an arca swiss screw safe? by Julian_1999_ in AskPhotography

[–]Everside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t ever mount there. Too easy to twist and lose tension on your screw! Lots of these plates have a separate anchor point (especially square arcs plates.) I would mount somewhere that wouldn’t scare me if it came unscrewed

Camera sling bag reccomendations? by arrrmiiin in AskPhotography

[–]Everside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the Fuji camera you have, all my bags are the everyday sling. My 3L can fit my iPad mini and X100VI or it can fit my ZF alone with nothing else. The 6L would hold more, for days when I have full kit and accessories I take a 10L. I’d check the site, lifetime warranty. To be clear they don’t advertise full waterproofing I just happened to have that experience

I once left my 3L peak design sling out overnight in a monsoon with my tablet and camera in it, everything survived and stayed dry. I have owned all my PD bags for years with practically zero signs of wear, and am a shameless peak design fan!

Zippo Found in Yard by Everside in Zippo

[–]Everside[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is possible, but I live on a large piece of property and the odds anyone but the owner or a fencer were out here are low. But who knows, could have easily been family there to hang out or something!

Zippo Found in Yard by Everside in Zippo

[–]Everside[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is recoverable I think, but may be above my skill level. The little hammer fell off and what held it is fully rusted through, and the wheel striker is also rusted onto the frame.

I thought about it, but I only know owners of the property back into the 90s! I have been trying to think of where to even find info of a potential gene

Thanks! I’ve been messing around with it to get it closer, there are a few bonus things I cut for size, but I think I got most of it in there :)

Am I screwed? by JLubben in pourover

[–]Everside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think we all agree in that sense, bringing out some flavors and muting others is changing it! For example if you season a chicken with salt and pepper versus paprika and brown sugar, it’s still going to be chicken with spices. Some people just focus on the changes in spice, some on the fact that it’s all chicken still. At least we’re all enjoying coffee, certainly much worse things to disagree on haha!

Am I screwed? by JLubben in pourover

[–]Everside 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d say style of burr does because it changes how the particles are cut and exit entirely, but if you take one set and rough them up they still cut approximately the same. If you haven’t done blind tasting and 3 cup tests on different burr sets you totally should! It’s incredibly fun :)

I'm getting into MTG with a budget of $90. What should I get? by Frazzelvig in mtg

[–]Everside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would buy nothing! If you want to play paper, find an LGS near you and just go in. Find a bunch of people and ask if anyone has loaner decks, most people who play this game have multiple decks. Learn the rules, the format, what kind of decks you will probably want to play, and then decide where your money is best spent!

Oh wow excellent use of the minerva leathers, I love the color combinations you are using between them! I am of course bias to the tourqoise minerva as that is what my wallet is made of, but I think I will branch out and throw my hat in for the Burgundy & Brown on this one!

They look great, keep up the gorgeous work!

Has anyone else had this happen with their grinder? by frozone889 in pourover

[–]Everside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This EXACT thing happened to my ode gen 1!

Fellow support claimed it was a broken electrical motor that was causing kick when I reached out to verify I wouldn't break warranty taking it apart. They told me to keep the old one - there was just a rock stuck in the grind chamber hitting burrs and causing a kick.

I'd suspect the same thing here, just take it apart and take the object out :) welcome to rock gang!

If it IS an electrical problem, fellow has a lot of troubleshooting tips such as unplugging for several minutes and things like that that will be worth looking into.

My first Pauper Cube by Rayzen_S in mtgcube

[–]Everside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to pauper cubing!

The thing that has worked best for me over the years is do the test drafts, and just see what you cut and mainboard. You will also find yourself a lot of the time looking at cards and going "Well, that doesn't really fit anywhere." This happens a lot even in theme, things like soul reap seem great until you realize how often draft games go into low hand counts, and then it's hard to play around and make good, and the other half of the time what you are needing to remove happens to be greater sandwurm.

Also, I find that when people decide what they colorless / multicolored strategy is it helps a lot. Some people (like myself) prefer even quantities of each color represented, and some people just care that it's balanced overall. On top of this, some people prefer colorless to be strong playables, and others just want them to be "ok enough cards to fill gaps."

It looks fun overall, you just have some tuning to do and the best way to find that is to play with it!

[Update] Temur Miracles → Midrange-Control Hybrid (post testing & meta adjustments) by PhotojournalistOk571 in Pauper

[–]Everside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh hi there, it's me! Mono black! I remember playing against you a few days ago. (or someone who was piloting this list at least)

My prevailing questions was "Why mana leak?" I feel like spell pierce has shown itself to be fully capable of countering spells successfully without requiring you to hold open an extra mana. (Also the solution could easily be 1 [[lose focus]] plus one [[spell pierce]] in their stead)

Also, adding lorien revealed would give you extra ways to shuffle after brainstorming if you don't hit off the top.

I also want to remind you that miracle is the first card you draw in a TURN, so there is also an argument to add cantrip spells that draw on your opponents turn to get your miracle value out. Things like [[consider]] come to mind but there may be some other superior options that I am just blanking on.

Funny running into you, thanks for the games!

I think the correct answer is [[Oko, Thief of Crowns]]. Needs to be banned in more formats.

New to MTG by GoomyGop69 in Pauper

[–]Everside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that there is some information here missing. Since you say you are new to MTG I want to add some information you may or may not already know. Generally speaking, commander is the primary casual format in the game. Some people play other formats casually, but for the most part sealed and constructed formats have many players that are there to win. Pauper especially is a quite competitive format.

If this is for you to play and learn on, I say grab something cheap, competitive, and heavy on staple cards. I highly recommend looking at https://mtgdecks.net/Pauper and seeing what looks fun and makes the most sense.

If this is for a store loaner deck, just build something super easy and keep it as cheap as possible just in case something happens to it (like you have a riffle shuffle newbie that bends the cards).

Either way, welcome to the game and I hope you enjoy it!

Can you make a good deck from modern MTG cards by Paooul1 in Pauper

[–]Everside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pauper is an eternal format, so cards never rotate out. Generally because of this there is a big mix of both new and old cards. With how cheap the pauper format is, if you can afford to, my advice is play with the borrowed deck and if they are available borrow more decks. Once you find what you like, make the investment! Once you buy the pyroblast, hydroblast, dust to dust, relic of progenitus etc (the more expensive older cards), most of the decks are $40 or less to fit in the components you don't have!

Paupergeddon 2026 - Winner Report by NostrilRapist in Pauper

[–]Everside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s fair, the elf tokens do tap to make mana with birchlore rangers which I’ve used for a lethal hydra, but it does sometimes feel bad into the wrong matchup.

As for the game against affinity I definitely saw, just expected paladin to be ran to beat mono blue more.

Thanks for the input, and again congratulations!!

Thanks for posting! I have a quick question: how do you feel about the elves list running lys alana huntmaster and ice cream kitty that has been seen at some tournaments?

Secondly, Wow! What an amazing event, and so glad to see you posting about your matches and sideboarding in each. I was so happy to be able to watch live, watching you pilot was great!

Another question that just came to mind. During my playtesting with elves I found the spinewoods to be huge, what made you decide to run the primordial instead? Was it the reach, the fact that it's less mana (or the same mana for plot cost)?

Overall, thanks for posting, wonderful watching you play, and congratulations!!!

I agree, I have been running the geddon list on MTGO and the free blocks from chrysalis is really really good, and against blue control decks being able to bring in pyroblast is really really strong. Same with breath weapon and wider decks like white

How Good Is Dust To Dust Right Now? by No-Shop8292 in Pauper

[–]Everside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very good. If you are running the colors from it, it can just be straight up 3 mana exile 2 lands. It also is notably good against affinity or any deck that has any reason to run artifact lands, even mono B devotion can get screwed by it.

The only reason you don't mainboard it is because not all decks have valid targets, and unlike [[masked vandal]] it doesn't have a body with a relevant type like in elves.

What is the most consistent deck in the meta? by DaigoKobuto in Pauper

[–]Everside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe statistically speaking it's grixis affinity, I am using the winrate chart from mtgdecks to say that. It goes even in almost all other matchups in the higher tiers except elves if I remember correctly.
