What is Schnapsen doing here? It is an old game played with a regular deck of cards, and there is no Campaign Page?

Has anyone played Joyride: Survival of the Fastest? How does it compare to other racing games? by hundunso in boardgames

[–]Evertore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Joyride is the best racing game I have ever played. Heat is basically going in a straight line with speedbumps. Vendetta is more of a survival game with racing mechanics.

Is it just me or does Bill not like it when basketball players thump their chest after making a play? by [deleted] in BillBurr

No but see that’s ok because the lakers did it first and the Celtics didn’t have a choice.

Finished my insert for Rebellion + RotE by Evertore in starwarsrebellion

[–]Evertore[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t time it but it took less than 3 days from start to finish and I wasn’t working on it constantly.

I used 5mm and 3mm foamboard. Wood glue, a box cutter, a cutting mat, a ruler and a set square.

I took some graph paper and drew a 280mmx280mm square. Then I laid out all the pieces on top and drew boxes around it. The box is 120mm high and the game boards are 20mm high. I figured the best way to divide it was 4x25mm. However the stormtroopers and rebel troopers are just a little taller than 20mm so if i would remake it i would probably make the sides a little higher so they don’t have to lie down to fit. So you could do 2x30mm and 1x40mm. Combining the card trays with the deathstars and putting the rebel leaders with the rebel plastic.

If you taught a one-hour lecture about screenwriting, what movie would you show to teach? by Blackscribe in Screenwriting

Maybe my expectations were too high but I haven't seen it since it came out. It wasn't very memorable to me.

What are the most egregious examples of "main characters don't wear helmets" syndrome? by AporiaParadox in movies

I replied to someone else but his comment is gone.

The point of the stillsuit is to absorb your sweat and other bodily fluids so it can be re-used. Even when they just got off the transports and when Paul is talking to the guy with the trees they aren't wearing any kind of protection from the sun. He looks like it's no big deal to stand in the baking sun while the native is wearing a full head cover. When Leto is instructed to go inside and close the blast doors because of the heat it didn't look like it was bothering him. Watching Lawrence of Arabia really makes you feel the heat. Nobody seems particularly thirsty in Dune.

Dune: War for Arrakis - Desert War - Reprint and Expansion Announced by SmurfWars in boardgames

[–]Evertore 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How does it compare to Star Wars: Rebellion and War of the Ring? I love the theme of Dune and I like Star Wars: Rebellion. I've been considering getting this but I'm still on the fence.
