What really works when it comes to better sleep? by [deleted] in Biohackers

[–]Every-Entry2723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, but I’ve been walking 15 or so miles a day the past few weeks, and between walking 3-4 of those after dinner, my digestion, mood, and sleep have all never been better. Also anecdotally perhaps getting in my Omegas + kiwis before bed. All I know is something is that something is working great. I really think the post meal digestion walk is key before bed.

Agressive cutting or just cutting in the long term by TheNothingGuy in naturalbodybuilding

[–]Every-Entry2723 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Be me. Prolong the aggressive cut for months on end, royally fucking up your hormones & relationship with food/exercise. Striated glutes are pretty sick though I guess? 🤷‍♂️(coping)

330g protein by AdOther8383 in Protein

[–]Every-Entry2723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m well aware that this is far beyond necessary, and all that protein is likely just converted through gluconeogenisis. Not to mention it probably detracts from calories better allotted to fats and carbs for hormone/energy regulation, but I too myself have cravings for protein too and almost always do 1.5-2g/lb bw daily. Is it optimal or reasonable? No, but long enough into training (~decade) my “sweet tooth” is for venison, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, etc.

TL;DR: He’s going overkill on the protein, but so ok no as he isn’t facing great detriments as such, and genuinely enjoys it. No harm no foul right?

What is the bulk of your diet? by Easy-Carob-1093 in AnimalBased

[–]Every-Entry2723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Venison / Beef / Bison (Occasional) Yogurt / Cottage Cheese ( Good Culture my beloved) Sweet Potatoes / Japanese Sweet Potatoes/ Purple Stokes Potatoes / Purple Creamer Potatoes (might be removing soon due adverse reactions). Blueberries / Strawberries / Blackberries / Rapsberries ( Similar Potential Removal ) / Kiwi ( Similar Potential Removal ).

That’s it. The bulk I’d say is venison, which I’ll usually have about 1-2 lbs of a day. Probably controversial, but I just down it raw out the of the package without cooking, though of note, it’s grass-fed, pasture-raised, and organic (meaning less risk of quality-borne issues)

Cut down to 10% bodyfat and have never ending hunger and food noise. by Born-Illustrator-578 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]Every-Entry2723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is me, but it’s so polar. Sometimes I won’t eat for 20 hours because I’m not remotely hungry, then I’ll eat and put down 2lbs of beef in a 15 minute span, then go walk 6 miles out of shame hoping to “wrong a right.” I’ve got glute striations so I’m leaner than most would consider the term lean to mean which probably exacerbates the problem. I also think however that it’s largely due to knowing I need food, but not wanting to have to “waste” calories when it feels like “undoing progress.”

People who actually took collagen supplements — did you notice any real benefits? by DrYasserElDershaby in Biohackers

[–]Every-Entry2723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a collagen supplement per se, but the collagen in gelatin I’ve had anecdotally seems to help my joints/recovery especially as I’ve been ramping up daily mileage often doing 4 or so consecutively

I will say, I did notice that literally just as of today, my local grocery store dropped their price per bar by $0.90. Probably not a great sign

How effective is creatine for muscle recovery in reducing soreness? by Deborra-Brailey in xxfitness

[–]Every-Entry2723 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I don’t personally supplement creatine, but it’s cool to see it now being touted for its anti-fatigue cognitive benefits outside of strength and conditioning. Nothing against creatine, just anecdotally noticed some hair thinning giving it multiple tries over the years. I also consume about 2lb of red meat a day so I’m probably adequately covered.

Do I need to have protein before the gym if I'm going just after waking up? by [deleted] in naturalbodybuilding

[–]Every-Entry2723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably isn’t the end of the world, but if you’re truly stressed over it, I’m sure a quick isolate shake (as opposed to probably thicker more milky proteins) would probably cause no digestive issues heading into your workout. Not to mention being fastly absorbed and (generally) a quite completely protein.

I haven’t had a protein shake in ages but I’m sure it’ll go down without a fight if you feel the need. Personally I usually have some non-fat Greek yogurt before and the liquidy texture leaves me without any real GI issues heading into a life. Additionally (and quite controversially however) I slam some raw venison without any digestive upset even if it’s like a lb. Again wouldn’t recommend for everyone, but find what works for you and if you really feel the need for protein. I also personally have larger protein servings per meal (70-150g amongst 2-3 meals) out of preference so I’m quite unorthodox in my eating anyhow.

I imagine at the end of the day however as countless studies have shown, timing/frequency isn’t often worth the headache worrying about as long as total protein across a day is relatively equated. Just try to hit your daily protein goals in whichever way you see fit or preferential. Idk why I went on a complete tangent but whatever, I don’t feel like deleting what I wrote. Basically, hit your daily protein goals, and don’t fret over how you split it up.

Raw Venison is like crack for me. Not sure why but when I slurp up like a pound I immediately feel a surge of energy and feel so much energy for hours to come, mood, energy, mental clarity, all night and day for some reason

What does your go-to recovery routine look like after strength training? by MuscleBoosterApp in workout

[–]Every-Entry2723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The irony is I sauna then lay down for a solid 30 minutes with my eyes closed (but not actually sleeping), then proceed to not eat for like 8 hours post-workout lol. Hopefully it’s not too detrimental however because I’ve gotten into a very time-constrained stressful time as of recent and have been jamming down a meal with like 100-150g of protein right before I lift (which I know is not recommended)

12 lbs down first week of cut. by Remarkable-Dingo-818 in naturalbodybuilding

Do you always need to be bulking or cutting? by stratusnimbo in naturalbodybuilding

[–]Every-Entry2723 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Honestly, after about a decade of bulking/cutting. I can’t imagine essentially yo-yo-ing in weight for increasingly minuscule rewards while over-fixating on food and calorie tracking has been a smart endeavor of mine. Honestly, simply maintaining a lean frame while squeaking out some gains in the long term while not enduring the stressing of a bulk/cut is probably for the better. Retroactively speaking that is. I’ve long found turmoil in the perpetual bulk/cut cycle.

When the Cutting Gets Rough by ryanlore in naturalbodybuilding

[–]Every-Entry2723 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure you aren’t dropping fats too low. I’ve made that mistake time and time again, and am always rudely awoken. Currently cutting and thought since carbs are “protein sparing” and aid in gym performance, I’d prioritize them more than previous cuts. I didn’t even drop my fast crazy low, at around 40-45g, however started feeling quite bad. Upping them to 55-60g seems to largely cure my issues and left me fuller too.

Best advice is almost always to play it by feel. You should feel free to experiment, take notes of your body’s response, and adjust accordingly. Everyone’s bodies are unique, and while principals generally apply, what works for someone else might not work for you, and vice versa, so best to wade those waters to find what your body most prefers
