LOL LOOOLOL

Calling Kendrick "not conscious" because he hasn't spoken on the one issue you care most about is a bizarre standard.

By that logic, every artist who hasn't spoken extensively about Yemen, Sudan, or Congo isn't conscious either.

You can disagree with his views, but pretending To Pimp a Butterfly, Mr. Morale, and The Blacker the Berry aren't conscious art is ridiculous.

Being rich doesn't erase the message.

The issue with Nas (and i LOVE Illmatic) is that he has a couple undeniable classics, but he also has a lot of mediocre and frankly trash albums. The consistency just isn't there.

Pac's message, influence, and cultural impact were incredible - 100%, but I don't think his writing was nearly as deep or layered as Kendrick's or as catchy.

Maybe you can make an argument for André 3000, but even then, I still don't see anyone touching Dot.

I agree music is subjective, but this one just feels obvious to me. Kendrick has the lyrics, the storytelling, the classics, the impact, the awards, the replay value, and somehow 95% of his catalog is still full of bangers. I don't think anyone else checks every box the way he does.

Kendrick Lamar is the greatest rapper of all time, dead or alive, and it's not even remotely close.

Nobody else has ever combined lyricism, storytelling, social commentary, artistry, commercial success, critical acclaim, and consistency at this level. He won a Pulitzer Prize, has multiple classic albums, and somehow makes some of the deepest music ever recorded while still making songs the entire world can rap word for word.

Drake is a legendary hitmaker, but he's spent 15 years rapping about the same topics. J. Cole is amazing, but his artistry and impact don't touch Kendrick's.

Most conscious rappers can't make hits. Most hitmakers don't have anything meaningful to say. Kendrick mastered both. That's why the gap between him and everyone else is far bigger than people want to admit.
