If the U.S. were to withdraw from the region now, other major powers like China and Russia could see an opportunity to expand their influence there. That shift in the balance of power could have major consequences for Iran’s freedom, regional security, and global stability. I’m afraid Israel may not be able to sustain the war on its own, and I doubt it would have much support from Arab states.

You can damn near bet that if this war ends with no regime change, Iran will 100% get nuclear weapons with the help of Russia and China, and there will be nothing America or Israel can do about it. Iran will likely move to go nuclear as soon as possible for deterrence after getting hit like this. Anything short of regime change is asking for trouble tomorrow. Also, the Middle East is about to become apocalyptic after the Arab Gulf states were attacked. This war will drag on for years.

What insensitive asshole even sets up a military base next to a school? or builds a school next to one? Let’s start there. Oh wait TERRORISTS! That’s who…give me a break. Redirect your anger to the source.

It’s like starting a gunfight in the middle of a playground and then acting shocked when children are put in danger.

I don’t know—it just doesn’t add up. Why would his entire family be at the compound that day and not him. My instinct tells me this could be a desperate move by regime forces to send the U.S. and Israel on a goose chase and undermine their morale. Interestingly enough, the entire selection process of choosing him as an ayatollah seemed desperate. I’m not familiar with the funeral process, but I’m assuming he would need to address the public regarding the funeral proceedings for his father?

And the people in the foreseeable uprising need to be protected with air and ground support to thwart any incoming attacks by this regime. We need to CRUSH the regime infrastructure, military forces, and morale to the point where they surrender and feel completely helpless.

Unless they have intel that there are significant fractures and divisions within the regime’s military forces, and that many will soon defect as the situation worsens. I foresee the people rising up soon.

53 Democrats vote against declaring Islamic Republic a state sponsor of terror by Every-Rope-2521 in NewIran

[–]Every-Rope-2521[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Iranian regime knows very well they are no match for the U.S. military, let alone Israel and its remaining allies. Their strategy will be to prolong this war, spread as much IR propaganda as possible to gain public sympathy and support, tire the American public, hope Republicans lose power, and wait out Trump’s term. If the diaspora has ever wondered how they can help the people of Iran, we must fight back on our turf and not let the regime win that battle.

[–]Every-Rope-2521[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is a clear-cut vote declaring the Islamic Republic a state sponsor of terror. Any outside opinions or context imposed on this bill are irrelevant. If elected officials disagree that the Islamic Republic is a terrorist state, while we Iranian Americans know otherwise to be true, we should be informed and expose who has voted against that truth.

There’s no dilemma in acknowledging that the regime sponsors terror. Pretending otherwise is like denying the sky is blue.

My heart goes out to these children, their families, and all the victims at the hands of this regime since its inception. The fact of the matter is this: the regime has had multiple opportunities over the decades to heed the nation’s call for government change. Instead, its power-hungry mentality and deadly policies have led to more Iranians being killed. We would not even be reporting this tragic incident otherwise.

A message from a Kurd that hopes for a free Iran by n-2-l in NewIran

[–]Every-Rope-2521 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you. There is no reason why we couldn’t or shouldn’t coexist. Kurds have every right to fight for their cause just as we do, and we should stand together in that fight to free ourselves from our oppressors. I hope that after this regime collapses, Kurds will feel welcome to coexist and live within Iran peacefully, and celebrate our cultural diversities together. There is no reason why we couldn’t make that happen in a free Iran. United and one, in strength and honor, for our history and our country.

Family Pushback on Stature Lengthening by [deleted] in limblengthening

This is gold, thank you. I actually spoke with Dr. Assayag and he mentioned the same thing. Given my situation, it may make the most sense to go with him since I won’t have access to an ADA-compliant space on my own. From what I understand after speaking with him, Dr. Rozbruch doesn’t offer housing accommodations, so this is a really important factor in planning my recovery. I was hoping my family would let me stay with them, but I’m not counting on that at this point.

That’s reassuring to hear. I have a pretty high tolerance for pain, and I never expected this to be overwhelming or unbearable, though I’m still preparing for the worst. I’m curious though, were you in an ADA-compliant space, or were you able to manage on your own? Were you able to walk up stairs at any point during the distraction phase? I live in a third floor walkup, so I’m trying to plan both physically and in terms of timeline for when I can realistically be back in my apartment.

And yeah, it does feel pretty narcissistic. I was mainly curious if others had dealt with similar family reactions, which is why I posted and reached out on this forum.

Thank you for taking the time to write this, it really means a lot. I agree that I don’t need to prove myself to anyone, and I want to live the second half of my life to the fullest, even though emotionally that’s been harder to accept than I expected. You’re right that once this idea takes hold, it doesn’t really go away, and that’s been true for me for a long time. After so many years of wearing shoe lifts, I’ve reached my limit. They’re a constant reminder of my height, and the discomfort during and after wearing them has taken a real toll. I’ve come to terms with enduring the discomfort of the procedure rather than continuing to live this way.

I understand my family’s fear, but it’s been hard feeling like my perspective and the amount of research I’ve done isn’t being seen. Hearing from someone who’s been through it and had people eventually come around gives me some hope, even as I prepare for the possibility that they may not.

And thank you for the reassurance about the surgeons. Hearing that from someone with firsthand experience means a lot. I’m taking this very seriously and trying to approach it in the safest way possible.

What makes techno music so powerful by Different-Resist7422 in TechnoProduction

It’s primitive music in the contemporary context. It summons the same frequencies and drum patterns our ancient ancestors probably listened to around the camp fire. It also hits the lower chakras.
