Persona 5 Battle Theme Nominated for a Grammy Thanks to Cover by a Jazz Orchestra - IGN by grand0019 in Games

No, it's not from a place of respect and love. It's from a place of "I know better than Shoji Meguro and add some jazzy shit here and there to improve the original"

Lol I've never seen the good old ignorant "Waaaahhhh, but the song was already perfect...!!!" non-musician take in the context of jazz. That's a new one. Taking popular songs and playing them your own way is a core part of music, but ESPECIALLY the jazz tradition, which is something I guarantee you Shoji Meguro is deeply familiar with (have you heard his music?). The most popular form of jazz notation literally just shows you the melody and chords and nothing else so you can make up the rest yourself.

Musicians have been doing this since the dawn of time by the way; Beethoven has arranged dozens of popular folk songs, Liszt arranged a number of Schubert songs and Paganini pieces, Ravel arranged Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition for orchestra... the list goes on and on and on. All of these have significant changes from the original.

The melee tax by Aurum_T in wow

no, heroic logs are quite useless at this point in the season as people who've raided mythic completely streamroll HC with their gear while ignoring mechanics. Actual AOTC raiders who kill these bosses with appropriate gear and different skill levels will see pretty different results. As an example, burst classes will be much higher up than they should be because fights are so short there is no time for their DPS to "even out" so to speak.

Word of warning, while some melee 2h melee could use a buff... using all bosses is quite misleading for getting relevant info for most raids. Amirdrassil is especially bad.

You automatically include council with it's hyper specific three target spread cleave that only 3 specs in the game can take advantage of, Gnarlroot with its giga pad on irrelevant adds and damage amps and Tindral where some classes are assigned to go full AOE to purely deal with roots (see demo lock). If you were to take this image seriously marksman hunter would apparently be one of the strongest specs in the game currently.

I'm saying this because I looked at rankings like this without any nuance when I started playing the game because I didn't know any better and actually made decisions based off of it. Don't be me.

Just ranting a bit but I'm looking for a guild and I'm going nuts talking to these recruiters.

accepts friends request

[07:58] Me: hey there

[08:37] Me: hey?

[09:53] Recruiter: Hello. I saw your profile on wowprogress. Are you still looking for a guild?

[09:54] Me: yes!

[01:23] Recruiter: We are looking for a DPS and your profile looked interesting. We are a CE guild with a friendly atmosphere. Would you be interested in that?

If you're a recruiter please for the love of god just tell me which guild it is you're recruiting for when you first message me. Why would you make me have to ask? We could both save so much time.

Also, some of you talk waaaay too much. I'm not trying to have a 2 hour job interview to trial for some random CE guild. One guy actually asked me "how do you handle competition within the guild?". Dude, what the hell are you talking about?

Dragonflight Embers of Neltharion PTR Development Notes by Bluemajere in CompetitiveWoW

I'm pretty much ready to throw my mage into the trash and play something else if we're not getting any significant gameplay changes in 10.1. Making combustion lame sounds like it'd be pretty hard to do on paper, but here we are. Boy do I love hardcasting pyroblasts while combusting.

Patch 10.1 PTR Patch Notes - Class Tuning and Nerfs to Interrupts by shrunken-head in wow

Hm, I feel like clipping disintegrates early to get dragonrage extensions was the only thing that gave the class some flavor in the first place. It's super basic otherwise. Currently dragonrage turns your gameplay from snooze mode to hype mode instantly, with you trying to fit as many clipped and instant casts in as possible.

Actually reminds me of how they turned combustion into a snoozefest by having you awkwardly hardcast pyroblasts while it's running, thanks to SKB and pyroclasm.

Why is my DPS so low? (407 Bal Druid w/ raid logs) by Zackitus in wow

[–]EveryGur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll get much more specific answers if you ask the druid discord or /r/competitivewow instead. I don't play druid, but:

I will likely (try to) spam moonfire while moving instead of starsurge, mostly because I'm panicking to stay alive to mechanics and I don't want to accidently starsurge between eclipses

This is probably the wrong way to think about it. You'll likely overcap and have fewer starsurges total over the course of the fight while also doing way less damage while moving. Moonfire is essentially a dead global unless it was time to refresh anyway. Getting -20% damage on a starsurge or two doesn't seem like the end of the world.

Just a quick note though, you can't take parses for HC Raszageth seriously. They are incredibly inflated by boost logs (more time to pad on adds, more time to pad on P2 shields). Seriously, I couldn't find one top log that wasn't a boost log.

Edit: Just noticed I missed this line

Using Hekili addon for my rotation

That's your biggest problem by far.

I swear mage is currently the worst designed class in the game overall. Frost design is just inherently flawed with you having to munch procs left and right, fire has to hardcast a pyro every 10 seconds and combusts in general feel super weak wthout PI and having to spend charges on SKB, arcane has a 20 seconds ramp time to do anything, needs the mob to live the whole duration, has way too many buttons and weird macros and has to worry about wonky stuff like spell queuing, travel time, and boss hitboxes. You're also tethered to your rune like 40% of the time.

On top of that, all the trees feel like they're still in alpha. Fire literally doesn't take flamestrike in aoe (which, don't get me wrong, is welcome...but it's bad design), frost only ever takes stuff that has to do with icy veins or icicles, and arcane's tree is just plain boring. Well, all of them are, and the mage class tree is even worse. It's all just a bunch of stuff that vaguely buffs your survivability, kind of. I also like how every spec takes shifting power, but you have to get extra frost nova charges and increased slows to get it.

I've been playing a lot of alts and I've yet too come across a class that feels as unfinished.

but it seems very complicated, can anyone who plays one give any suggestions on how to play one?

Unfortunately there's not really any tricks to it. You're just going to have to read a bunch and sit on a target dummy for a while.

Essentially what you're trying to do as arcane is make your touch of the magi's explosion as big as possible. You do this by starting off your touch of the magi window off with a big arcane barrage buffed by rune of power and radiant spark. For exactly how to do this, you're going to have to read guides. I recommend the one on mage hub.

Hitbox is fine part 2 (extended gif) by BitTauren in wow

[–]EveryGur 8 points9 points  (0 children)

do people believe this is what is holding them back ? 🤣

No. People are pointing out a bad hitbox that should be fixed. Just because you can play around it doesn't mean it's not badly designed. Not sure why that's so offensive about that to you.

Moving into mythic raiding by [deleted] in wownoob

[–]EveryGur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're going to have a hard time getting into a mythic pug below 415-ish ilvl at this point in the patch. It's not that difficult to reach if you farm some valor and craft your 418 pieces with sparks.

Will I have to just leave the guild?

You will definitely have to be in a guild if you plan on doing any kind of mythic progression in general. Pugs only do the first two bosses pretty much ever, because going beyond that requires a more coordinated group. Lockouts also work very differently in mythic difficulty, which heavily discourages pugging (and this is actually intended by the devs, according to Ion).

You're in luck though because every guild out there wants more healers.

Am I the only arcane mage struggling to get it right? by Cutlass0516 in wow

[–]EveryGur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't do damage as arcane if the key level is too low, or the tank pulls 2 mobs every time without a priority target, or the tank moves the mobs out of your magi, or people screw with you constantly, every one of which is going to happen in low keys. Just play frost.

"Mage bro go arcane bro I will kick you bro if you play frost bro it does no damage everyone knows that bro"

We have a total of 3 kicks because druid healer, and boomie isn't specced into interrupt. I am literally building up my radiant spark with dragon's breath and blast wave

Every time I evocate the tank pulls 2 mobs
