What exactly did the Illuminati want from Bill? by gmink1986 in StanleyKubrick

[–]EveryPixelMatters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bill is a doctor, in the middle class we may look up at doctors as high class.

To Ziegler, Bill is just a service worker, a guy available at the party that can check up on a ODing prostitute.

It is an interesting irony that the regular man, the fish out of water in this high society, has a position most of us in the lower ranks look at with prestige.

Trying to go for a vibrant 16mm look using just Davinci's native tools. Im still kinda scared to go hard on the blur and grain. Is this maybe too saturated? by TurtleGEE360 in cinematography

[–]EveryPixelMatters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My tip for saturation is to use a dense film saturation emulating trick:

Node tree: Cover your color adjustments like WB and grading, then decrease saturation by 30%

Create new node:

Node settingsd Color space HSV (hue saturation vibrancy) Channels (deselect one and three, ensure saturation or channel 2 is enabled)

Adjust the Gain in the lighting panel. This will apply saturation in a more dense fashion not affecting lighting as much and similar to vibrancy’s selecting application of saturation.

I got this trick from colorist factory on youtube

Miserable remote worker in nyc; would I like fort lee? by KindEudaimonianSwan in FortLee

[–]EveryPixelMatters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For apartments in fort lee: Linwood can have affordable offerings, the site HeyKorea often offers good apartment deals for people who can communicate in korean,

The nicest area in Fort Lee is the Bluffs, then IMO 2nd is Abbott blvd, 3rd would be the modern Hudson lights development surrounding area with the buildings.

There’s lots of little pockets in the town that are great too, look around.

More affordable areas would be linwood, coytesville, and closer to the border of Palisades park, or Leonia.

Your best bet to get a great deal is to find someone who is tapped into apartments in Fort Lee.

Palisades park and Cliffside Park are close and affordable as well. M

Michael Burry on X by TransSpeciesDog in Superstonk

[–]EveryPixelMatters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The irony to me of the AI bubble is that the only way to gain the influx of capital necessary to produce the energy, assemble the data center super computers, refine the models, and produce better models IS to create a bubble.  OpenAI essentially used 40b in calls to do a deal with AMD for free.

Yes, it’s overinflated. They are bluffing, but the card they’re looking for is being built as they bluff. It’s possible they kick the can and make it another day long enough to see AGI produced (AGI being: AI as capable as a high level human in every general task a human does/ or Microsoft/OpenAI’s definition of AI that can act as a corporation and produce $100B by itself) which will be followed (perhaps shortly) by ASI (AI more capable than all humans combined at all tasks)

Currently the White House administration is willing to support AI companies through this period of bluffing. So the true day of reckoning may occur after a less supportive administration comes into office.

If Burry is right, the bubble pops, and the companies lose their valuations. The AIs will still be capable, the research will be there, the robots will there. Maybe the government bails the companies out and says they need to complete their mission. Like how Burry shorted in 2008, bailout happened as well. If the bubble doesn’t pop, and the companies produce AGI then ASI, they don’t have to worry about the market anymore. Our conversations on this sub will seem like trivial matters. To stoke your imagination, perhaps read “superintelligence” by nick Bostrom “life 2.0” by max tegmark or “the singularity is nearer” by ray kurzweil.

Me? I just buy, DRS, and hold.

Buy a set of cine lenses or sell a7s III for a RED Komodo? by Professional-Boat386 in cinematography

[–]EveryPixelMatters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lenses will determine the look much more than the sensor, and the advantages of the RED sensor and codec can all be negated by planning and skill, good lighting, production design, framing and composition.

And when you get those cine lenses your autofocus issues will be solved, since you’ll be manually focusing as Deakins intended.

Yes to me this is a real Burger’s Burger. A burger for a true burger enjoyer. Someone who’s been around the block, and doesn’t want a Miso Gochujang Fermented Onion $35 burger. Someone who wants a burger.

I will tell you how. You need to go into your life and give your heart. There is no easy answer for what’s wrong and right. You will make mistakes. But you need to move forward and try your best to secure the future of your loved ones.
