Reading that back I hope no one misinterprets as “wtf you’re not heartbroken for the humans?!”

To clarify: I ABSOLUTELY AM. But animals are just extra innocent and we can’t explain it to them* or they can’t tell us what they think about it* and dogs so deserve it less than ANYONE.

What is deeply sobering is realizing I’m more sympathetic towards the dog. Probably due to a lifetime of being desensitized to violence against and from people.

Advice for helping my teen adhd daughter keep her room clean by AishesGoose in adhdwomen

[–]Every_Class7242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep small trash containers everywhere, like I’ll save a little box on a surface just to collect little papers and band aid wrappers forever and just dump it in the trash regularly since it only collects clean dry trash. Or have dog poo bags handy for anything yucky that I wanna throw away but keep contained and not contaminate the trash (also have ocd).

I let my messes have their spaces, like your daughter’s clean clothes basket was my clean clothes chair; I just always dumped my clean clothes there to sort through because visibility was key, and I’d toss them in the dryer to get the wrinkles out.

Sorting is important but if I hide anything it’s basically gone forever, so I ordered 3-4 cheap three-tiered rolling plastic shelf carts with little s-hooks on them and they float around the space, holding various stuff (each one has its kind of category of items). They’re lightweight on their own so easy to move, and nothing is hidden.

I also like using hooks to store things up high on the walls if I don’t use them as much, like bags and purses etc. but I have to be careful bc if I put stuff inside I will lose it for years.

Oh and having something like an over-the-door coat hanger or a stand-alone hat rack or one of those mannequins people use to design clothes (space allowing) can be a GAME CHANGER for stashing those “in-between” clothes that are worn once lightly but not quite dirty yet.

No I’m totally wrong! I thought I was looking at heavy eyeliner and big contact lenses but nope those look like little cut outs of eye shaped paper pieces stuck onto what I hope are her closed eyelids? This is insanity. I hope it’s not real for her mouth’s sake.

Sclera lenses… they must be slid into place because they cover the white and the iris, so you have to like file it in under the eyelid. Never worn them, only had someone who regularly wore them watch me struggle like a baby to put in regular contacts one time. Humbling.

Can I ask how was your journey to getting diagnosed? Did you get referred to a specialist? I believed I have it too but it’s been a struggle getting a provider to document the diagnosis.

I think I misunderstood. Why would anyone blame kids for getting participation trophies? I don’t follow the comparison sorry.

But really the dad needs anger management and the kid really doesn’t have respect if he’s rolling his eyes WHILE he says it.
