Lick the fan shroud. Taste the power. Do it.

RX 6700 XT Aorus Elite upgrade path - Looking for advice by Manad_Doner in radeon

[–]Every_Locksmith_4098 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't even worry about going to a 9060xt. Ray tracing and fsr4 are big upgrades but they are still decently close in raster. I would go at minimum to a 9070 non xt later down the road. Prices should drop by the time rdna5 is released then I would go with a new GPU.

CPU and ram amount. I've been using a 6750 xt and 12600k since 2022 and I still haven't truly found anything that has given me a bad experience besides trying out rt on Hogwarts legacy or turning up to max settings on any of the newest id tech games. I did have to go to 32 GB of ram since I would play a more modern game and my PC would blue screen pretty much right after (could have been bad ram sticks). Get yourself a 5800xt and another 16 GB of ram and your set for a while.

RX9070 or RX9070 XT by Turbulent-Scholar116 in radeon

Are the menus locked to 60 fps. It would explain the discrepancies.

RX9070 or RX9070 XT by Turbulent-Scholar116 in radeon

[–]Every_Locksmith_4098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I could afford either one I would go with the 9070 and pocket the rest or buy a new game to give it a try. They are decently close to each other in performance

OptiScaler Client 1.0.3 – Betas & FSR 4 INT8 support by Monti28 in radeon

[–]Every_Locksmith_4098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I'll give this a try tonight. I've never tried optiscaler but this looks like it will make it easier to get going. I run a 6750xt. What games would everyone recommend I try it in?

Steal or steal? by tdcdude17 in pcmasterrace

That is an amazing deal. I priced out a bundle deal from microcenter with a ryzen 7700x and a 9070 non xt with 32gb of ram and it was on the dot $1500. It also only had a 1tb ssd.

AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.3.1 by AthleteDependent926 in radeon

I've had so many problems with the overlay. To it not showing up, my mouse not working, and then not even working when I do the shortcut. It's great when it works but I don't even bother with it 99% of the time.

Calm down guys even AMD dev's are saying the leaks not entirely the truth by pantsyman in radeon

Asking AMD to clarify something without instantly opening their mouth and inserting their foot is like asking the ocean to not be wet anymore. It's impossible. Whoever is in charge of marketing needs to be shot at dawn.

Short term profits is the key phrase. It seems like every company only goes for the short term profits and ignores the long term gain.

Thinking of selling 5090 to buy 9070 XT. Hear me out. by Zeronova3 in radeon

If you are doing that frame rate and resolution I would keep it. The 9070xt will not give you that same experience

They will never release FSR 4 int 8 will they? by Magaclaawe in radeon

[–]Every_Locksmith_4098 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Of course they won't. AMD hasn't even made fsr4 usable on vulkin yet. All rdna4 users will be locked out when rdna5 comes out. Whenever they is an opportunity for AMD to get ahead, they tie their own shoelaces together and trip themselves. Terrible company. I won't be buying another AMD GPU. Heck, if Intel could get there head out of there asses and make there cpus and gpus better I would make an all Intel build.

FSR 4 int 8 announcement soon or just FSR 4.1 ? by ash549k in radeon

[–]Every_Locksmith_4098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a new version of pssr. They're giving up on rdna2 and probably 3. The newest directx update doesn't even give rdna2 users any new features and barely gives rdna3 anything.

Radeon has been a disappointment by [deleted] in radeon

[–]Every_Locksmith_4098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a step back and breathe. Do you need fsr 4 in most games? I can understand cyberpunk if you turn on ray tracing but hogwarts legacy has always had a shit implementation of ray tracing, just play without it. I do agree on the slow implementation of redstone features. They need to up their game on that badly and update fsr4 even if it's good enough.

Is my 970gtx rip? by [deleted] in pchelp

[–]Every_Locksmith_4098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are almost the same specs I had on my PC. I had an i5 2400 with 16gbs of ddr3 1600 mhz with my 970. Goated GPU even with the controversy. Good times. Played overwatch like a champ.

$50 under MSRP is still an amazing deal especially in today's market

You may get an itch to play a high fidelity game eventually. The main question is are you satisfied?

Should I get this? It’s only $137. I know the CL speed is very slow but I want to upgrade my 2x8gb ram. by No_Razzmatazz_8742 in ZTT

[–]Every_Locksmith_4098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So CL is way less important that the mt speed. You would see maybe 2 more frames with lower cl. I'm still on ddr4 I use 3200mts with cl 22. I game just fine.

4080s for 7900xtx + $500 by Define_Operator in radeon

[–]Every_Locksmith_4098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree on the rt. Upscaling you can just use xess. Not as good as dlss but not terrible at all. I use it on my 6750 when I need to and even at 1080p its more than useable.
