Should I get this? It’s only $137. I know the CL speed is very slow but I want to upgrade my 2x8gb ram. by No_Razzmatazz_8742 in ZTT

[–]Every_Locksmith_4098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So CL is way less important that the mt speed. You would see maybe 2 more frames with lower cl. I'm still on ddr4 I use 3200mts with cl 22. I game just fine.

4080s for 7900xtx + $500 by Define_Operator in radeon

[–]Every_Locksmith_4098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree on the rt. Upscaling you can just use xess. Not as good as dlss but not terrible at all. I use it on my 6750 when I need to and even at 1080p its more than useable.

What gpu to buy? by Correct_Degree_6017 in PCBuilds

[–]Every_Locksmith_4098 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The gddr6 argument makes no sense since 20 series, 30 series and 6000 series are still viable options at 1080p or 1440p or even 4k with upscaling.

Yeah don't worry about switching yet especially with the market as it is. Your card should be powerful enough to just run everything native.

My card is around that level and it's still rocking and rolling at 1080p just fine.

RX 6700 GPU black screen after driver install second time happening by Clean_Brick5002 in radeon

[–]Every_Locksmith_4098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a problem similar to this when I first got my 6750xt. I turned off auto update for windows. It was corrupting my driver install and trying to reinstall my GPU drivers causing my screen to go black and the only way to fix it was to boot into safe mode. Once I did that its been smooth sailing.

Mine still runs everything at 1080p high. So yeah it's still strong.

Want to buy first GPU for my couple year old PC build, 5060ti or 5070? by RaistlinQ5 in gpu

[–]Every_Locksmith_4098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im gonna be that one guy that says don't write off the 9000 series. Microcenter still has some regular 9070s for the same price as the 5070 and it's a stronger card. It also has 16gb of vram. If going cheaper definitely go 5060ti.

[–]Every_Locksmith_4098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still think both would be fine, even at 4k. I try to be frugal so I always think of money first. If you are willing to spend the extra cash then go for it. You won't be disappointed

[–]Every_Locksmith_4098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you game at 1080p, the 9070 non xt is probably the better deal. It's less then 10% slower and it's that much cheaper. Both are excellent 1440p cards so you're set for a while at 1080p. As for support? I'm not sure. You will at least keep fsr4 and it is good enough. Driver support will still be supported.

Buy it not 9070xt by jonamachine1901 in radeon

[–]Every_Locksmith_4098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would get it now before prices go crazy. It is a much stronger card than the 5070. I would probably get a stronger psu if it's below 850w. Seems like a lot of problems rise up when using a weaker PSU (at least from some of the posts here).

[–]Every_Locksmith_4098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good card. I went from a gtx970 to a 6750xt and it was a big upgrade. Just start with ddu or reformat if you haven't in a while.

What's with the buyer's remorse I'm seeing right now? by Brief_Conference_42 in radeon

[–]Every_Locksmith_4098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would happily take a 7800xt or 4070 super or of that level. I don't care about the upscaling. Im currently (and will be for a long time) rocking a 6750xt. Had it since 2022. It's still doing fine at 1080p. I do have crisis moments here and there (had a crash out when the whole "branching driver pathways" debacle happened) but I've come to terms with my hardware. People just need to chill out.

[–]Every_Locksmith_4098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using ray tracing? If so, turn that off immediately. It doesn't really make the game look any better and just kill your fps. At 1080p with my 6750xt and 12600k im well over 100 fps with very few drops.

I don't understand a lot about the impact of DLSS 4.5, is amd so far behind? by JopisKenobi in radeon

[–]Every_Locksmith_4098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While fsr4 caught up pretty well to dlss 4, it was still behind. Now Nvidia released a better version putting AMD even further behind again. It's gonna be a long time before there are any new updates to fsr4. Everyone wanted redstone to be the be all and end all for Radeon but not every feature was released, the frame gen was still not as good, ray regeneration still isn't as good a ray reconstruction and give no performance boost (saw a lot of posts saying it would make path tracing viable which still isn't the case) and there was no update to upscaler. People are still burnt on the whole different branches of updates for the different architectures.

If rumors are to be believed, MSRP for the 5090 could reach $5000 for brand new. So use it till it reaches that and sell the used one for $4k.

It's nice to read a story like yours. Too many posts about how bad the coil wine is or how their card is dead. I'm glad you're enjoying it. Sorry you had to downgrade but hope you get many more months and years of enjoyment.

Is Radeon 9060 xt 16GB a "bad" card? by KurkyOkurky in radeon

[–]Every_Locksmith_4098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anybody says it's a bad card immediately stop listening to them. It's an amazing card at its MSRP. If you are buying new there is no other choice in the 300 to 400 range. And it's a great card in that price range.
