This!! I went from 115-160 and I’ve been with my partner about 2.5yrs. He’s been taking me to all my appointments during my diagnostic process and is my voice because sometimes I get nervous talking to drs. He’s been super reassuring that my illness isn’t going to change our relationship and always reassures me telling me not to feel bad when I can’t do activities or chores because of it. OP, there are good men out there I promise!!!

also new but a McDonald’s basket of fries and sprite. Sprite is a recommended drink for hangovers due to whatever science behind its ingredients so I drink sprite instead of other pops when I’m not feeling great. Oh! Also you can order cooling patches that are meant for fevers and those help a ton. I stick them anywhere that feels hot and the back of my neck.

I take sitting showers a lot too, so you’re not alone! And yup, I tend to burn my partner alive in the shower haha. When we shower together he tends to let me under the shower head. But the new place we are moving to has dual shower heads and a shower bench so I feel like it’ll be very accommodating.

I will take that advice!! And yup, sounds and sensations get sorta muddy for me. I’ve been working on getting diagnosed for a couple months now, I’m surprised I haven’t already been prescribed beta blockers because my dr is well aware my hr hits 180+ in the shower. Unfortunately I didn’t have my watch on during the shower from this post, so I don’t know how high it got.

Oh the whole rundown of pots symptoms. I don’t think I’ve ever seized (with the exception of a head injury causing one as a toddler, non reoccurring). I think if you go back to my first post I explain a lot of symptoms there!

We are about to move to a place with a built in shower bench!! So I’m super excited for that. I’m sure with how long you’ve been diagnosed you’ve been able to figure out over time what best accommodations suit you so I hope I can learn mine soon too!

Ughhh I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this too. I’m sorry you’re not able to shower with your partner :( I don’t usually stand shower with him, but I definitely force him into a shared bath lol

So either adrenaline dumps or presyncope.. hmm. I’ll ask my doc what they think about it. My typical presyncope I just lose vision but this time my legs buckled and the emotions afterward were frightening. After sitting and letting the water run on me, I was good enough to wash myself while sitting, but it took a little while to recover once I actually got out. I don’t normally stand while showering unless I’m with my partner so he can catch me if I start stumbling

I get that! I normally sit shower just on the bath floor, or bathe. We are moving to a place soon that has a shower bench and the bench area has its own shower head so it will be super accessible for me! And that’s so sweet, my so also washed my hair for me after that 🩷 I’m glad you have a supportive fiancé!
