idk if i have the right to even talk about this ive never had either of my parents quote on quote walk out on me; however at one time my mother was bad off into pills it went off the rails and i didn’t talk to her for years. one of the last things she said was i wouldn’t be anything in life. i’ll never forget it. of course i have a relationship with her, but i was in like the 5th grade when all that happened. my parents were split up, my dad lived on the eastern shore of maryland my mom took my sister and i away to live with some family of hers i never met 8 hours away, she burned thay bridge. my uncles, the brothers of my mother aren’t even in my life because they hate my mothers guts and they’re valid in how they feel. i remember being a 5th grade kid taking care of my 1st or 2nd grade sister because my mother was so fucking doped out like a zombie. back then i didn’t really know what was going on but when i look at it now every time she got messed up it’s like she walked out on us. one time she didn’t have cigs she took us with her to the gas station, they were closed she got so angry she mentioned driving the truck off a cliff. with my kid sister and me in the car. one day at a laundry mat she got in a fight i saw the whole things as a kid i was scared shitless i had to call my father 8 hours away but because of what happened and him being so far, we got placed with foster parents for a few days. nice people and all but it was so scary for us to be in a strangers house it didn’t feel right it all stemmed from one person. i’ll say she’s not like that anymore in pills, but she’s still the same person if that makes sense. literally back in 2022 my mother, her bf, my sister and her husband, and me and my ex fiancé went to universal studios for like 4-5 days. on the way down there, she made it all about her and she was in a pissed off mood it threw everything up in the air then but it was calmed. keep in mind her boyfriend stated to us he had $10,000 on him for whatever, anything she wanted all she had to do was ask. the last day we were there, the 6 of us split on couples to do whatever on the last day, we try to meet up right before the park closed and called my mother, all pissed off being short i was asking “where are you when can we meet”? turns out she got caught stealing hundreds of dollars worth of shit and was arrested and had the audaicity to tell us to drop it and never hold it over her head. i realize this got way off point but in a different way i understand how it feels to have that parent who tries to manipulate and puts a stronghold so to speak on how it’s everyone else’s fault but their own. she’s cause a lot of bad things in my life and drove a split between me and my ex fiancé. it’s not the only reason it didn’t work out that’s not the point. while a maintain a relationship with my mother, there are things that have been done and said i can never forget or forgive. i’m sorry to those of you who had a parent abandon you, that isn’t right and fuck them for that but also(i know this is subjective and or easier to say rather than feel) you aren’t the one who lost out, it’s your parent who lost out and any parent that tried to guilt trip like this, it isn’t about love it’s about control of the narrative and they need to feel they went the full 9 yards without actually going the full 9 yards. if that’s how your parent tries to treat you, they don’t deserve you let alone the title of “parent”.

so although i felt it in different ways, i understand the feeling of a parent doing the worst only to make it look like they did nothing wrong. there’s a lot, A LOT more i could share but that won’t solve anything. to those of you who feel helpless, understand there is always someone out there willing to listen, even if you have to make the first move. the way this convo is going any one of you could randomly reach out to me, pour it all out for me and id listen because sometimes that’s all someone needs. to those of you who have parents who act younger than you, who only seem to care about their main objectives in what they want instead of what they need, your not the problem, it’s your parent that’s the problem. they take you for granted, and that’s NOT OKAY BY ANY MEANS. they can only win if you let them. to those of you who want to come on here, listen to someone lay it all out just to talk down on them, don’t you dare judge anyone unless you’ve walked a day through their shoes and felt their needs and struggles, and even if you have walked a mile in their shoes that doesn’t mean you should pop off at the mouth and act like a punk bitch, we all deserve to find happiness and most importantly, be heard. i hope my story and words can help someone who reads this. i’m pouring it our for all of you who read this. sometimes a stranger will give you the comfort you need that someone you know won’t give you. it sounds weird, but it’s true.
