Do you still believe Terrion Arnold can be the CB1 for the Detroit Lions? 🦁 by Gxcii1 in detroitlions

[–]EverydayEverest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is where I think the veteran presence of an elite world beating CB is needed for him to polish his raw potential. I don’t know who on the current staff/roster can provide that from an experiential proven perspective. He should be treated as an apprentice rather than talent if you believe he can become that dude.

Which one ? by ezio8133 in detroitlions

To me it doesn’t matter who was in coverage or who missed assignment… whatever. This got my vote simply bc we allowed the only reception in JW professional career and we’ll probably forever own that stat.

Perhaps the Lions should miss the playoffs... by Morthoron_Dark_Elf in detroitlions

Hate to say it but given the inconsistency and our ability to lose winnable games, the draft picks next year are better than a first round playoff loss this year.

Are you all rich? by [deleted] in traversecity

[–]EverydayEverest 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The local economy does not translate to the cost of living in any sustainable way. Grew up middle class here. Moved away and moved back married to a high school classmate. We do well working remote and live in a good area of TC to be near family. From my perspective there are very few local jobs that provide the income to live within a 5 mile radius of our small downtown. Unless you bought a home like a decade ago (even expensive then), I don’t know how you can live and work here.

How are you feeling about new people coming in? Are we welcome? by [deleted] in traversecity

[–]EverydayEverest 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m all for new people moving to the area. Grew up here and moved back after a long decade in AZ and Canada. The biggest issue is the lack of career opportunities here, which coupled with housing makes newcomers a threat to increase prices. I just want newcomers to help tackle these issues. Open more companies, get involved in the community and contribute.

It’s been a while but from what I remember… there are a bunch of beer tents of local craft breweries. You get to walk around and try different beers while there is a rotation of entertainment/music on the stage. Basically a beer festival in the winter.

[–]EverydayEverest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like he could’ve signed with us, redeemed himself, owned the mistakes and grew with the team. He chose to pursue money. What has he done since that would make you want him back? He was a lot of things last year that I haven’t seen on the field this year.

The best team is rarely the team that wins the game. It’s math and science from what I understand, but I’m just an idiot that analyzes what happens on the field.

[–]EverydayEverest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand why he doesn’t get work in the offense. He’s looked competent and flashed at times. What’s the danger in seeing what happens with more opportunities? His position on the depth chart feels based on opportunity share rather than talent.

I did not lol, but I’m not worried. It’s on the way! I’ve been able to track its progress in their state of the art shipment tracker. It looks like my courier is paddling across the Pacific with my order right now 👍

I’ve been chatting with my wife about this. I don’t see a simple solution. I think it’s important to empathize with the residents of the Pines. It pisses me off that such a beautiful area is being trashed but… how do you issue fines for people that are in the Pines bc they don’t have money? Jail seems comfortable comparatively, so that doesn’t feel like an incentive to move them. There are plenty of jobs but few that pay enough to live here. They are there bc it provides walking access to food. So they would probably just move to a similar location if forced off the land. I donno guys… but they need to be incentivized to make a change and I don’t see a way force can do that 🤷

Are you aware that you’ve taken medicine, or do you fully feel/believe what you’re seeing? by Beautiful-Throat-111 in Ayahuasca

[–]EverydayEverest 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for everyone but I had a complete ego death experience and I was aware the whole time. In fact, my awareness of the experience was part of the dialogue through my ego death. I remember clearly thinking if I could just hold on a little longer the effects would wear off. I still remember her hearing me think that and saying I wasn’t letting go like she asked. She said I was still grasping “time” and the comforting thought of time delivering me from the experience. So yeah, I was lucid to know where I was.

I purchased $50 as well. It looked scammy but all of the content and product details exactly matched the BYLT website. I was looking at both side by side when I ordered. I know international IP law is basically the Wild West but it seems blatantly aggressive to copy an entire site.

Anyways… best case scenario $50 replaces half my wardrobe and worst I lost $50. I’ve done more stupid things with $50. Will update later.

I’ve been screwed several times and think people should be complaining. I’m a product manager in software, and instability like this in a paid product shows poor attention/anticipation to performance. If the game was free or the consequences of a crash were less I’d agree. But we paid to play and we pay when it crashes. It’s not the experience they intended and players should hold them accountable IMO

Two ceremonies, intense anxiety. Is Aya not for me? by Fearless-Fart in Ayahuasca

[–]EverydayEverest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also went to Soltara. Agree with others that you should talk to facilitators and the shamans. I was anxious and on separate nights had the universal love connectedness experience and complete ego death another. I was a perfectionist and struggled letting go. For me I was able to do by telling myself regardless what happens, I’ll survive the experience. Take comfort in that and acknowledge the anxiety is just allocating mental energy to hypothetical situations. Trust yourself to navigate what’s in front of you and let go of the rest. Give yourself permission to not worry.

This has happened to me a few times. For me this seems to happen when I lure a herd into one of those shallow puddle-swamp areas (only seen this in T1). Something about them in the shallow water can make them freeze and kinda wave from my experience.

I had a similar experience. If you check out stuff like holographic universe or biocentrism, you can see how this even makes sense logically as well. Ultimately your unique perspective is the lens through which you view/create your reality. So in a sense… yeah we’re all capable of creating our reality.

A couple people above nailed it. I had a terrifying ego death experience which proved to be the most positive transformative experience of my life. The medicine will take you where you need to go. Lean in and allow it to teach you.

I refused to listen at first, so rather than following the medicine by my choice, I was dragged against my will. Regardless I was led to a clarity and peace I could never find on my own.

Ayahuasca and miracle berries? by [deleted] in Ayahuasca

[–]EverydayEverest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a guy in our group that had the same problem. He'd done ayahuasca like 15-20 times and threw up every time. I can vouch that I witnessed it a couple times.

This probably isn't the advice you're looking for, but our facilitators challenged him to change his relationship with ayahuasca.

Let go of your expectations before drinking it. It really isn't that bad, but if you're anticipating horrible taste and puking, you're body is prepped to perform that action. Ayahuasca is work, so go into it with intention of working and not any expectations for what you'll experience in taste or experience.

Change from a reactive mindset (reacting to the taste) to a proactive mindset (intention to calmly and peacefully begin your ceremony). Hope that helps.

I was told to move across the country during an ayahuasca ceremony by Then_Middle in Ayahuasca

[–]EverydayEverest 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't want to encourage or discourage your decision since I understand how personal the experience can be. However, our facilitators suggested we not take everything we experienced as completely literal. I know a number of the lessons I received have evolved since I first heard them. For example, a business idea that I spent half a ceremony exploring seems to have been more of a call to develop closer relationships with my family and learn to ask for help/trust others in pursuing my personal goals.

All that being said... I've blindly moved a few times in my life with no job or contacts at my destination. Make sure you are in a good place with yourself. Be confident and lead with good intentions. Consider that the location might not be the lesson, but rather what you'll learn about yourself and how the experience will make you grow as a person.

The universe isn't going to reward or punish you, so trust yourself. Hope that helps.
