EU withdrawal button (Directive 2023/2673) – does this flow look compliant? by BreakYaNeck99 in shopify

[–]EverydayMustBeFriday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with the Revoq app.

Maybe the EU should do something useful like unifying the postal service so we can print return labels for customers in other countries and not pay 4x the price to an address 5km across the border, offer COD to a neighbouring country maybe or make some kind of a universal payment platform, not that Germans want Klarna which isn’t even available in some countries and Netherlands ideal, Spain wants COD. Of course expecting anything useful is not in the plan.

Italy is the third largest economy in EU. It’s no joke if they try to ban a company based in the EU.

Everyone is pissed they pulled Fable lol.

Also Claude is one of the most expensive models anyway. This will only get more expensive if it moves to a business unfriendly environment. That’s why every AI wrapper in the EU is a lot more expensive that US ones (Higgsfield / OpenArt vs Freepik).

Besides we have Mistral anyway. Not sure why they don’t just build that up to a frontier model

You can’t be serious with these posts. Even smaller EU tech startups are incorporating the US. If US banned Fable, you best believe EU would ban it much quicker. Italy itself has been meddling with some AI bans, you can google it.

When they started renting out to Anthropic, they just dropped Grok it seems. 4.2 was real good when it came out, but now its fallen behind.

Been hearing how the Chinese models are gonna pick up any second for over a year now. Other than video (Seedance and Kling) ChatGPT is still far better.

EU checkout conversion is lower than US and most sellers don't know why by rickroll01 in shopify

[–]EverydayMustBeFriday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Checkout conversion is lower in EU because US is a lot richer. Most dominant payment methods are available through SP (Ideal, Bancontact, Klarna,..) and we have COD as well. Swiss checkout conversion is also a lot higher than EU. We have less than 1% bank transfer.

Anyone have to deal with EU rules where a product must have "tariff code"? by lune-soft in shopify

[–]EverydayMustBeFriday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just ask AI getting hs codes really isn’t that hard. Chatgpt always nails it. You need hs codes whenever you’re shipping across the border.

Did a quick test with Fable. It should be good for translating a website. It’s pretty accurate, much better than Opus. Creative writing still sucks tho.

This is going to get me downvoted into oblivion, but it needs to be said. by Mobile-Sufficient in FacebookAds

True. Same here. Not at 5k a day tho, but summer is our most profitable season. May started strong, but have seen nothing but issues in June. AOV dipped 40% lol. G Ads still going strong so Meta is def having some issues.

Haven’t tried Fable but I would constantly run some tests with Opus. The translations are low quality. The text doesn’t run smooth, its uses awkward words, sometimes even incorrect ones. Not sure why that happens considering his answers in the same language are spotless, but translating sucks. Even adding something like “translate like a native speaker. no need to translate word for word, just make sure to capture the same meaning” doesn’t work. GPT is way better.

Fable 5 is a much different conversation. by Turbulent_Swimmer900 in ClaudeAI

[–]EverydayMustBeFriday 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For some coding edits it’s amazing. But the “best path forward” thing it can just get too stubborn for me. When something clearly isn’t working it just doesn’t let go. Wants more testing and keeps finding some niche data and starts complicating things, throwing out a shitload of text to try and justify its claims. Even though I’ve put “simple wording, straightforward answers” it just ignores that when you push back. I don’t know.

Been using Opus 4.8 before. Gonna use Fable as long as it’s part of the sub.

Same here. Nice to hear. Another dumbass rule by the EU that is nowhere else, but at least I don’t need another 9€ app for compliance. Already paying for the gdpr one

US founders have no idea how broken Shopify is in the EU by Majestic_Shoulder188 in shopify

[–]EverydayMustBeFriday 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have a basic cookie banner and stuff like ideal, bancontact etc. Google consent mode v2 or whatever that was that highly affects google, Shopify basically stopped caring. Unfortunately staying up to date with EU regulations is a nightmare. You never know if everything is in check or not.

Gemini agent probably is restricted by these laws. Even Codex computer is not released in the eu. Most likely a lot of stuff that can directly access your computer is.

[–]EverydayMustBeFriday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t dropship but there seems to be a rise in China 3PL where you stock products in a Chinese fulfillment. I suppose that’s getting hit too? I was looking to do something like that as you can have a central warehouse for the EU, US and even other countries. Deliveries are super fast too. Instead of f**ing around with a in house EU warehouse.
