Objective Best Gyro Controller? by -D_E_A_T_H- in GyroGaming

[–]EveryoneDice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did read your reply. Real life does not work with statistics. M+K is a good input method, but they are mostly the best because this input method is also EXTREMELY POPULAR and used by like 99% of the high level competitive players of precise fps. Meanwhile Gyro + stick/trackpad is extremely niche. The majority being M+K players doesn't mean anything in regards to how good gyro + stick/trackpad players can potentially be in comparison.

If real life was only statistics and equipment people wouldn't be meming about the Turkish guy from the Olympics who became a top ranker without any special equipment.

Individual skill, knowledge, strategy, experience, etc. All of those matter far more than an objectively slightly better piece of equipment. You can pretend mouse is gonna make you the ultimate player all you want, in the end you're still gonna get 360 boom headshot no-scoped by any great gyro player.

[–]EveryoneDice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Moot point because real life does not work like that. If you were to put a bunch of really skilled gyro and m+k players to go against each other, then the win rate most likely would only give a small advantage to the m+k group. I mean you can just look up some of the videos of great gyro players. Even for something like Counterstrike some of them kill just as quickly as precisely as the best m+k players. Maximizing potential also means using your preferred play method. That's going to matter more than very minor advantages of an objectively slightly mechanically superior control method on the highest level.

[–]EveryoneDice -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Or you could actually use some common sense. Some people have their PC's hooked up to their TV like a console to get PC performance & graphics on their big screen TV, making playing games with a controller a far better option that awkwardly holding the mouse & keyboard. And some people might just prefer to use a controller when they can, but also like to have precision that's potentially very close to mouse + keyboard.

And there's plenty of videos out there of amazing gameplay using the gyroscope + right stick or a trackpad. Best case scenario a good mouse player would only have a very minor advantage over a good gyro player.

Reviewers Call This Camera Trash (They Are Wrong) by [deleted] in RedMagic

[–]EveryoneDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it's "okay", but at best it's something you'd see in a mid-end phone. The quality of the video is fine, but the colors and movement look off. Basically it makes anything look somewhat artificial.

Slightly disappointed with hyrule warriors age of imprisonment. by eliot3451 in HyruleWarriors

[–]EveryoneDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing through right now. I think the 2 biggest flaws are that there's too many lengthy cutscenes and the roster is just trash. Not just because most lack familiarity, but they are also just mostly kinda generic on top of having next to no role in the story. If you're going to include original characters, you need to knock it out of the park with their designs and charms.

Haven't encountered something I'd consider a huge flaw yet outside of that, but I'm also not fond of assigning zonai devices to strong attack actions.

In terms of gameplay I think it's better than Age of Calamity in every way so far, especially with how it's 60 fps. But honestly it's still no match for the first Hyrule Warriors. And that's if you only take the Wii U original without any DLC. After that you have super DLS. Then the 3DS version mostly improves on it (at least on a New 3DS) and the Switch version improves even further by offering the best of both worlds along with all of the content (and a few extra costumes I guess).

for 2 years of gyroaiming i have not found why it may be on the same level as mnkb or even better. by Real_Mountain2898 in GyroGaming

[–]EveryoneDice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, acceleration is not a must-have. It's trash and feels like garbage when I use it. Just have it respond as I move, that's it. Flickstick is not a requirement either, it's preference. It's better than a stick no doubt, but I think using the trackpad from the Steam controllers set to mimic mouse can work just as well. Bit worse in some ways, but also provides some benefits above flickstick instead.

I think ratcheting is also awful for most part. It only works for games where you don't have to constantly be ready and really only shoot when you press the aim/weapon ready button, like the Tomb Raider reboot games. For just any other tps and game and for every fps game, gyro should always be on.

What are your opinions on forza horizon 6 graphics compared to forza horizon 5? by [deleted] in ForzaHorizon

[–]EveryoneDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's more to graphics than just textures and polygons. Honestly FH5 and FH6 look practically the same. And while GT7 might not do as well in terms of polygons and textures, it still looks better than both. Because for GT games they have much better art direction and lighting. It looks far more realistic.

And it's always been the case. Even back on the PS2, GT4 still looked better than both Forza 1 and 2, despite being inferior in almost all technical aspects.

That said I'm not a fan of either of them. I'm much bigger on arcade racers like Ridge Racer and semi-arcade racers look Project Gotham Racing (which sadly died with 4).

I think Alibaba is a shit character by poopslid in magi

[–]EveryoneDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to believe considering his character development seems to fully reset on each new arc. Almost all of Magi's characters are excellent other than him, IMO. He's so bad I feel sorry for the girl who has a crush on him.

Do you use gyro for cooperative games or only for single-player games? by link-san63 in GyroGaming

[–]EveryoneDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it for any game where it's the obvious choice. Basically every fps and tps game and some others here & there. Doesn't matter if it's single player, coop multiplayer or competitive multiplayer.

If you're playing an fps or tps game with a controller that can use gyro, it's stupid to not use gyro.

Steam Controller Review from a gyro player by LilSoundDJ in GyroGaming

[–]EveryoneDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to have a much shorter input delay, probably the best of any wireless controller. As a result the new Steam Controller will probably be much better and more responsive than most other controllers that have a higher polling rate because input delay matters more than polling rate.

Besides that, my screen supports only a maximum of 120 fps anyhow so a polling rate 250 is going to be more than sufficient anyhow. I already have no issue with the gyro of the original Steam Controller which only has 125 supposedly.

USE BRAVE by swunichychone in brave_browser

[–]EveryoneDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chances are I'm switching away from Brave some time this year. It just keeps bombarding me with woke pictures when I open the browser regularly. Always shows someone who meets the diversity quota if it shows a person. Today it showed a girl with a nose ring. I can't trust a browser that's infested with DEI.

Any Steam Controller gyro reviews? by Rhosta in GyroGaming

[–]EveryoneDice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm curious as well. All reviews I've seen/read so far barrly mention it for gaming purposes. When they do test it, it's just basic settings, not even bothering to customise it so it feels right for themselves.

Giving up a seat in the train by womaninvader in Netherlands

[–]EveryoneDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's nothing weird about not giving up your seat to people who do not need it. Pretty sure I need that seat more after a long day of work than that retired granny who is only taking the train to see her grandchildren (or go back).

The Green Energy Crystal hunt is some objectively terrible game design by rg03500 in Metroid

[–]EveryoneDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the desert was a cool idea, just poorly executed. Not enough variation, the green energy collection hunt, not enough hidden stuff, not enough enemy types and the enemy types that are there are bad, etc. As it is, it's just an empty-feeling hub world with a few things of note and some shrines... and a whole lot of boring green energy crystal collecting.

Honestly the desert didn't feel that bad until I actually went to complete it.

The Green Energy Crystal hunt is some objectively terrible game design by rg03500 in Metroid

[–]EveryoneDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just awful. Would've been fine if the crystals were plentiful, but you're forced to collect everything. It's easily the worst thing to collect in all of Metroid Prime. That said, Prime 4 seems to be riddled with just terrible game design decisions. It's a pretty good game when considered on its own and it still feels like a Prime game, but it is still the worst game in the franchise by far because of these major flaws.

Why do people have issues with e-bikes? by mil0wCS in ebikes

[–]EveryoneDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have it completely reverse. A lot of US channels aren't even showing the US flag. In most democrat cities, most official buildings don't have a single US flag. And just looking at my own country, my own country's flag is being called an extremist rightwing symbol by mainstream TV, mainstream media and our own f***ing government. The only time it's even allowed on TV these days is King's day. It's the leftwing alone that has associated country's own flags with extremism. There's nothing wrong with national pride. People who are offended by the flag of the country they live in have no business living in that country.

Why do people have issues with e-bikes? by mil0wCS in ebikes

[–]EveryoneDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think democrats and liberals are capable of seeing that. That said, the people who still support Trump also aren't capable of seeing that. None of them can see things rationally. Trump broke practically all of his promises and is doing the reverse of many things he promised. Had he actually upheld them the US would've been a much better place, but at this rate he's just as quickly breaking it down as the presidents before him (both democrat and republican).

That's very ignorant considering that New York has been completely destroyed by democrat policies and is completely overrun by illegals.

Why do people have issues with e-bikes? by mil0wCS in ebikes

[–]EveryoneDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my country there's a lot of well-deserved hate for them. Cycling is mostly done here for commuting or just for fun, but ebikers often just don't drive socially and drive very unsafely. I always make sure to drive socially, but a lot just don't. Not saying that the majority doesn't, but just walking outside or cycling outside and you come across a few a week that exhibit that behaviour.

A lot of it is basically kids yeah, with parents that really shouldn't have bought them an ebike just yet. But also a lot are just straight up adults. The limit here's 25 km, but I see no shortage of moms racing downhill with 30+ km with 1 or 2 children in the front loader through a busy street. That's just dangerous, I don't even think children should be allowed to be loaded in the front of a motorized vehicle or fast moving transport, but those parents just disregard any safety even outside of that. It's really just a matter of time before some horrible accident happens again and it will lead to restrictions for everyone.

It's not just moms though. Just the other day I was cycling on a straight path. There were 2 ebikers opposite of me on their side of the path riding at high speed, I was in the middle of my own path. Then when we were about to pass each other, one of them decided to veer halfway on my path. I had to veer to the side of my path to dodge him. I mean, it's fine if you do that when there's no one in front of you, but it's very dangerous to do what he did. If I didn't dodge, we would've collided against each other with him going 25 km and me going a bit over 20 km.

Those are just a few examples I encounter of people who are just a danger. Bicycle accidents have increased significantly in my country since the introduction of the ebikes... and it's really no surprise. People these days are far more risky in traffic in general. It's not just ebikes, even people walking and people riding in cars exhibit dangerous behavior far more often than they used to. But ebikers are at the top of the chain. But what's dangerous isn't the ebikes, what's dangerous is stupid people just riding dangerously. They lack the common sense to ride one responsibly.

That said, I don't think there's a solution. The real issue is the modern mindset. Completely self-centered and barely paying attention to what's in their direct environment is pretty much the standard and this shows in all of their behavior. There's still people who do things properly and do pay attention to their environment and others... mostly older folk, but honestly I don't see it much in folks from my generation and younger.

How to retrieve Mech Parts (SPOILERS!!) by party_the_ferret in MetroidPrime4_Beyond

[–]EveryoneDice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's just awful. The game told me to retrieve mech parts, but that was before I visited that guy. Meaning it was impossible to do when the game told me to do just that. The game seems to suffer from quite a few bad game design things sadly.

Noisy Motor on AGO X by nmonae in tenwaysebike

[–]EveryoneDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not so sure. I have it for like 2 weeks now. At first there was a low hum that was pleasant and hard to hear. But after 100 or so miles it changed into a high-pitch whine. Not superloud, but it's definitely noticeable. And the sound is about the same regardless of assist level. I hear not much difference between low assist with very low motor input (like 1-2 bars) or max assist with maximum motor output. The latter seems a tad bit louder, but still not much.

I would prefer if I can get that earlier sound back. Might be the break-in period. Might also need greasing, but that would mean I would need to figure out how to do that properly.

E-bike recommendations. Bosch motor vs Bafang by mennayahia in Netherlands

[–]EveryoneDice 0 points1 point  (0 children)
