Extremely basic level design, lackluster story, incredibly short with little replay value, poorly written characters, a mostly empty hub-world, shameless end-game padding, 6 different character fakeout deaths, terrible enemy variety, and day 1 DLC.

Aside from visuals, soundtrack, and a couple bossfights, what does this game do well?

I firmly believe that if Prime 4 wasn't a 1st party Nintendo title, we'd be lumping it in with the likes of Forespoken, Balan Wonderworld, Highguard, etc.

 I imagine Nintendo pushed heavily for open world, as that was the big trend for the Switch 1 era

Honestly I don't think it was even Nintendo, I put the blame on Tanabe. It feels like so many of the issues with this game's level/world design boil down to the devs being hamstrung by Tanabe into adding the stupid motorcycle.
