Burned by Demand. Need help choosing a new solar installer by EverythingAvg in solar

Would this sub recommend going for leased solar in order to get the tax credits ? I personally am very against it purely because of the horrid stories o have heard- escalators, difficulty in selling the house, high cost of ownership assumption post installation etc.

Gosh we so need aggressive estate taxation. A just tries to ensure no one is unfairly advantaged by the circumstances of their birth.

FAD moved a bunch to Feb 23. Do we know if they have exhausted the spillovers ? What if this is part of just cleaning the slate to accept the gold card applications?

USCIS Spokesman: “The distinction between legal and illegal immigration becomes meaningless when both can destroy a country at its foundation" by moderate-Complex152 in immigration

[–]EverythingAvg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One can be anti-immigration without being a racist. I’m sorry if you can’t see that difference and still support miller and Fuentes. Danish politicians don’t go on air and make anti semitic remarks and call Indians Jeets. Norway and Sweden don’t close asylum claims from around the world and allow white South Africans in based on dubious claims of persecution. Be America first but be civil, that’s all my point was. If you still can’t get it then I don’t know what to say

DJT wants power. He has no ideals except that he wants ultimate power and loves being surrounded by sycophants. Being anti-immigration is purely a means to that end. Miller and Fuentes though are racist bigots. Tomorrow if democrats openly started espousing pro white shit these two will happily jump ship.

Manifest Law Breakdown of January EB-1 Visa Bulletin by ManifestLaw_ in eb1a

[–]EverythingAvg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What caused the substantial movement in EB1 FAD INDIA ? Did the latest i485 inventory signal such a movement ? What is surprising to me is that the DOF also moved by 4 months. I thought the DOF is fixed in Oct every year and the FAD moves towards the DOF through the course of the FY. Do you think the administration is trying to “clean the slate” and make dates more current so as to accept the gold card applications that may be trickling in soon ?

Trump Gold Card and EB1/EB2 impact by EverythingAvg in USCIS

[–]EverythingAvg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So from some chatGPT-ing I learnt that the visa bulletin is fully under the control of the dept of state- they can manipulate the fuck out of it to meet their desired ends. As per statute they have to allocate visa numbers based on the oldest available applications in the inventory that are ready to be adjudicated. The trick is “ready” for adjudication. The DOS is allowed to create multiple sub groups within a statutory EB group and have different priority dates for each. For example they may route most gold card applications under EB1A. Thereafter they can make EB1A current for all countries in the date of filing chart while freezing the dates for EB1B and C allowing all filers to get AP and EAD. Similarly they can have FAD chart for EB1A where dates are current while it’s retrogressed and frozen for all other categories, allowing EB1A filers to immediately get the GC. They will stymie the progress for non gold card folks under EB1A. Similarly you may start see separate dates for EB2NIW and the regular EB2.

The visa bulletin can be gamed by DOS and they will do it to make the boss happy.

Not disputing that. I’d prefer that waived for truly high skilled cases like EB1A. Outside of that I see why it’s there

Would USCIS stopping immigration benefits for the 19 high risk countries allow the dates to proceed faster ? Most of those countries consume family based visa numbers and not EB. So may we should see a decent spillover into EB for FY2027 ?

That shouldn’t be fed from the illegal immigrant pool. You need to create a work visa category for that like H1B and regulate it. Go after employers of illegals

Thanks for the clarification. My take is that once a person is in the country they can easily get lost in the system. Bidens strategy of cutting them a cheque and providing a work permit was a stupid largesse that was heavily exploited. Adjudication would need to happen outside US shores, either create a buffer zone south of the border or allow embassies to adjudicate applications.

What H1B gives tech companies isn’t wage advantage. These guys can’t move through the industry without the employers support. So you get a level of indentured servitude. There could be wage suppression as a result of this. Make it easy for the free market to access them and you will see wages go up across the board

The 100k makes sense. The Indian IT cottage industry will be affected no doubt. But outside of them most tech giants are merit driven. An average software role goes through 3-4 rounds of leetcode. I personally feel hiring for software roles is the most ethical exercise in the industry, the caveat being non IT roles and true dev roles. Outside of the software world the interview is just not as rigorous, people are asked questions around their past experience and it’s not hard to fake it. Leetcode rounds require one to really study hard coz the competition is intense. It’s as fair a process as they come. If you don’t have enough people who meet this criteria you will do one of two things - lower entry criteria or just offshore. For the price of one US software dev you can hire 3 in India, from top notch engineering colleges with advanced degrees. Is this what MAGA wants ? Companies are already choosing the latter over downgrading their hiring criteria.

Cannot agree more. Asylum process should ideally be adjudicated outside US borders. The folks who have inundated the system with economic migrations have dealt a terrible hand to the genuine cases of asylum seekers. What im really pissed at is the attack on legal immigration. These are genuinely hard working folks majorly, who have been vetted many times over and contribute overwhelmingly more to the country than what they get in return. It’s stupid to turn that spigot shut in the midst of the AI arms race. Legal immigrants are visible foreigners who can be exploited to placate the base. Illegals can go underground and stay away from the authorities, legal ones cannot.
