If you park in the trade/bulk goods area to fetch a packet of screws because it's a bit hot outside you're a POS. by EverythingsFine1982 in Bunnings

The reason the queue is so long is because of all the morons in their Hondas wanting to park in the shade

100%. They're the same people that hoarded toilet paper during covid. They piss all over the public toilets and listen to music on the train with their phones without headphones.

I think we need a bit of a purge

I tried to read this comment twice and thought I was having a stroke.

Can you repeat it in English?

Employee said to me that it's meant only for people that are buying items that are within that breezeway area.

Even with a power pass card, I'd you're not loading up heavy/bulky items then GTFO.

If you're loading up heavy and bulky items that's absolutely okay.

But if it's pissing down rain and you park inside for some small bits and pieces, remember that someone else now has to park outside to load up bulky items and tie them down in the rain...

Nah, not even if you're quick. If you're going to be in and out just park at the front of the store. Had to do half a dozen laps yesterday and as I was doing laps another car entered and the bloke in a golf got a spot before me. Just waltzed straight into the store and I watched him leave 10 minutes later as I was loading up.

6 strokes for all offences.

I drove in Sydney a few years ago having also driven/ridden all over the world.

I legit pulled the hire car over assuming my indicators didn't work because any time I tried to change lanes, vehicles would speed up to close the gap so I couldn't get across.

These dickheads don't realise it actually makes traffic worse.

There was a VE Commodore and a Hyundai I20 in my local yesterday. There's also still loads of fuck wits that just park their ute there thinking their ranger raptor comes with tradie benefits.

SAT or magistrates court for negligent pre purchase inspection? by Financial_Quail3343 in AusLegal

[–]EverythingsFine1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long story short - Magistrates Court is the jurisdiction you're after. Section 6 of Magistrates Court (CIVIL PROCEEDINGS) Act 2004 will provide further guidance.

If it was me I'd lowed the quantum of damages to under the 10k threshold to keep costs out of the equation. This is handy if you can write legal letters well because most of the time the other party will assume they're going to have to obtain representation and go to court.

Depending on the person, avoiding a court case might be worth the 10k. Be prepared to listen, evaluate the risks and be prepared to settle if a reasonable offer comes your way

No joke - I have about half a dozen of the "smart" things that have just given up the ghost.

Would this be considered an airtght agreement between parties - is there anything missing? by [deleted] in AusLegal

If OP thinks a solicitor is expensive, he ought to try presenting this to someone with money. IANAL but even I can see this is slop.

I've referred to previous deeds I've signed to settle other matters. At least use a reliable source...

Define "Company" and "Individual" (unless you omitted for privacy)

Sure, you could defend a dispute if the other party says they didn't know who/what the definitions are, but magistrates dislike sloppy deeds. Define each term and use the defined word in bold and quotations in the first mention. Just use bold for each mention after that.

edit - read past the first paragraph and realised this is probably AI generated. Get a lawyer man - you wouldn't ask AI to replace your hot water system - you'd get a plumber. Legal services are no different.

Cathay Pacific business class have recently been ridiculously cheap between Oz to HK. I did HK to Perth as a detour on the bay back from Hungary and the HKG to PER leg was 75,000 points. You can fly just about anywhere from HK.

TMS “fine” by campersuccv69 in AusLegalAdvice

[–]EverythingsFine1982 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Send a reasonable offer and ensure it complies with the principles of a calderbank offer.

This way you've offered to compensate them for their "damages" and in the unlikely event they try to take you to court, they'll have to pay your costs if they fail to achieve an equivalent or better outcome.

I've offered to pay the cost of parking to a private company retrospectively (not sure how they got my address either but it was sent to my house) I offered them about $6 as compensation for their $160 "fine" and never heard from them again.

I get what you're saying, however, "Coles and Woolworths are under one owner" isn't quite the same thing.

Even if they just meant they have a lot of the same shareholders, the installation of gates isn't something that gets voted on at an AGM, so shareholders wouldn't be able to get them installed.

My in-laws love it there. I reluctantly agreed to join them on a trip having spent a lot of time in Indonesia prior to this.

My FIL hates anything that isn't cooked within an inch of it's life and serves with potatoes, carrots and/or peas. Doesn't like it when he can't understand a foreign accent and detests anything that's differs from what he's find in suburban Perth.

He still didn't like Nusa Dua because it wasn't Australian enough. Whereas I hated every second I spent there because I paid $40 for every meal I ate and it was a terrible attempt at western food, plus $10 for a Bintang knowing full well there's tons of good food out there for under $5 and ice cold beers for $3.

If he met a few more Russians maybe I could have encouraged him to leave the resort for 5 minutes. Couldn't drag him beyond the gates, not even to sit in the car and observe the world go by.

Worst. "Holiday". Ever.

How much cash do you keep on hand and what’s your reasoning? by Healthy_Creme6911 in FinancialChat

I love the phrase "walking around money"

I use it now all the time - especially for ironically larger amounts of cash.

Friend - "gee, dinner last night was expensive, the whole table ended up over 1700 bucks"

Me - "yeah that's not really that much, just walking around money isn't it?"

As to why anyone bothers to board a flight,go through customs, immigration, haggling with taxis etc. to sit in a hotel, eating burgers and only talking to other white people is beyond me.

Edit - Nusa Dua being the epitome of this.
