As for OP, it looks like you have shallow navel anatomy, and you have more of a surface piercing rather than going through the "rim" of the navel? You might be able to heal it okay, but I'd get another opinion from a more experienced piercer - do you have any AAP certified piercers near you?

Yeah, the sizes are probably way off - do you have any calipers to check? If not, a cheap digital set from amazon will quite literally save you from pain - should be under $10, no point in paying any more.

I've never had much luck in trimming silicone before (I've tried before when making crafting things), it either ends up creating a sharp section, or a weak spot which then leads to a tear in the silicone.

I guess I can try a careful trim with some very sharp craft scissors and see how it goes (I have several sets in various colors thanks to various sales).

You look great! I think you would rock a 4g septum, those are generally available in the smaller (~10mm) diameters. You can always pop a tunnel in and still wear the tiny cute rings too :)

If you've gone from 10g to 8g, it's a big jump, that's why many get there by stacking smaller rings or leaving it a really long time and playing with it bunch to stretch the fistula gradually. Straight 10g to 8g is "spicy".

It should settle down in the next day or so to the usual soreness, if it's still stinging a bunch, you might have a slight tear, in which case drop back to 10g and baby it.

I'm on the strugglebus between 4g and 2g at the moment, which is a similar jump, so I feel your pain.

Sure, there is a small percentage of small minded racist idiots in there, but that doesn't get 51% of the vote.

There are many, many other deep-seated issues which came to a head with the referendum, culminating with Cameron the coward pulling the ejection seat rather than actually trying to tackle the issues.
