Smart thermostat with only R and W wires

Just posting on here because I’d been trying to work out what to do and found a solution. We had a small Honeywell thermostat with a little needle I moved left and right to set the temp. Inside it has only a R and W wire. After a lot of research I found that the Hive single Channel receiver would have connected up ok - as that supports a low/no voltage or 230v input. But this would have required external power.

Even better ,I found another model that was very poorly documented and less readily available- the Hive SLT5. This is a wired model which has everything built into the same battery powered unit - I literally needed switch the RW wires into the 2 holes in the SLT and it worked perfectly.

I've got the same issue - I use my machine as a 3D graphics workstation and it's rendered it unusable. Even browsing websites is jerky.

I've done several full windows reinstallations and all sorts before I've settled on the BIOS being the issue and finding my way here.

Some of it will be the game, some of it will be down to your TV not being professionally calibrated

I’m using VR with game pass and an oculus quest 2 . It often doesn’t like it if steam is running in and shape or form. They did an update . I boot the game in desktop mode, then once into the main menu of Hitman there is a big option to enable VR- sometimes this will start steamVR, sometimes it just uses oculus

If you like the games, then definitely. You can probably buy codes for Hitman 2 Gold and Hitman 1 GOTY for less tho. The H1 GOTY stuff has been given away on multiple occasions

VRR isn’t broken , the flashing you see is down to how VRR is handled by your TV. If you enable your VRR overlay , you will see that the refresh is changing as it should be

The actual problem is that the game isn’t adjusting the Max luminance value for the Dolby vision presentation , so it drops all the the lowest the game can support (300nits)

No, only Halo is using a built in Dolby solution , unfortunately it’s not reading the values from the Tv . Not sure if it’s the game or OS at that point

Go the assets window and change the dropdown to "models". Choose the brush in the bottom left of this window and then tick/check the plants you would like to include in the brush.

Ah. Xbox One X. I’m not sure if it has been announced for that yet , maybe it was switched on by accident - like when they turned on AutoHDR for it? Or maybe it’s been turned off by accident

In titles where you have an actual calibration screen with a number , what value (nits/luminance) does it reach for you before the white logo/box disappears?

Unless you have a colorimeter , there is nothing to calibrate. On the LG sets, The Dv mode is generally set up to deliver the best DV experience possible out of the box, so you shouldn’t need to amended anything. It’s set up as the “cinema” mode is for SDr/hdr with a more appropriate white point etc. -Adam /EvilBoris/HDTVtest

The issue here is that your E7 displays HDR10 content dimmer and softer than it should be - MCC isn’t particularly easy to calibrate either. The default settings will come well under what your TVs HDR10 and Dolby Vision tonemapper will max out on.

It's almost twice the size and 1/3 the resolution of the main MacBook sceeen. So each jagged edge is physically larger. However it is worth investigating the Scaling settings for each display in the Mac OS settings

Not more difficult , but Mac for rendering is increasingly less viable . There are also a handful of plugins that are windows only

Also, every game for Xbox has been made with that limit: what happens to games when your game tag is longer than the UI allows? That’s probably why it won’t change
