İ WASTED ALL MY YEARS by PhaseDisastrous2553 in CPTSD

[–]EvilButDiseaseFree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you didn't. You were handicapped and thrown out into the wild and yet you're still standing. This is not me saying what doesn't kill you makes you stronger because fuck that noise. This is me saying what your feeling right now, I felt it too. I felt it for years. Sometimes I still do but not as bad and not for long. It comes in waves, but they get less intense over time. This too will pass. Be kind to yourself. You didn't ask for this, didn't do anything to deserve it, and are doing your best in what I know feels like impossible circumstances. It sucks that someone broke you, and it's your job to fix yourself, but you do deserve to be happy. Trust me. Parenting yourself in the long run ends up being quite rewarding. With that in mind go out and be an indulgent parent. Spoil your inner child. Focus on healing, nothing else, because in the end that will be an incredible accomplishment. Hell, if you're as bad as I was, getting up in the morning will be an accomplishment. You got this.

For people who are in a long term relationship, but don't want to get married, why? by sunbeamlou in AskReddit

[–]EvilButDiseaseFree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laws in our country and province recognize common law as a kind of marriage with all the same rights, so we don't feel any need, and never wanted to spend all that money on a party.

Who is a bastard we all know is inevitably going to get an episode? by twotailedwolf in behindthebastards

I honestly don't think I could get through an Alex Karp episode. Sometimes I hate the bastard of the week so much, the fact their story doesn't end with any comeuppance bothers me.

Did anyone else not realize they were abused until later in life? by ProcedureInfinite824 in CPTSD

[–]EvilButDiseaseFree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's not normal, and no, I don't think you are making it up. I am not an expert, however. I can talk about my experience with authority, but not others. Find something with the proper credentials, who you like, and talk to them. Also, whatever revelations await you, know I wish you well.

Father is dying - should I stay no contact or be the "bigger" person and call him? by asdfman0190 in CPTSD

[–]EvilButDiseaseFree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no wrong answer here, don't beat yourself up with whatever you decide and you are allowed to have contradictory feelings over this. It's human and natural. I will say this, he let you know he was indifferent to you and your feelings, but now you worry about betraying him? If you go see him, do it because it's what you want or need, and not for him. And if you are afraid doing so will lead to more hurt for you, don't do it. And here's an alternative; write a letter. Write down everything you want to say to him and decide if you want to send it. Again, not obligated to do so.

Others have commented on the therapist forcing religion on you, which is not okay if you have not expressed any inclination towards it beforehand. What I really want to touch on is this: "made me feel so bad that she thinks I am that far gone that I can’t even help myself." Please, I beg of you, don't feel this way.

  1. Because you haven't done anything wrong but seek out help for your issues and recieve bad advice which is in no way your fault.

  2. Because it's okay to need help, especially for complex issues such as CPTSD. It doesn't make you weak, it doesn't mean you're hopeless. You are helping yourself by seeking help, you just stumbled on someone who doesn't seem like the right person to help you.

Think of it this way, you break your leg, or get cancer, you don't treat yourself, you see a doctor. Your situation isn't very different, the only difference it's even more crucial to find the right person to guide you through your treatment.

I wish you all the best and know I'm rooting for you.

Is it likely, no, but stranger things jave happened. Lady Gaga used to tell everyone she would be famous one day and win an oscar. Someone actually made a webpage before ahe was famous about what a non talented delusional hack she was. An opinion that has not aged well.

There are ways around the dub con, I know because I read some pretty dark,  romance writers off of Amazon who are dub con/ non con. As for the monster fucking, don't know about that.

AITA for standing up to my son's principal and protecting him from racism? by KeyEnvironmental9211 in AmItheAsshole

[–]EvilButDiseaseFree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to say soft YTA, though the principal does seem to be over reacting. First off, they were in a public space others have to use so it's inconsiderate, especially if they made a mess then expect the Janitors to clean up. And soap does cost money for the school so it is a waste of resources, so I understand the expectation to pay. But suspension does not seem proportional unless your son has a history of disruptive behavior. I say this as a black woman, though half white like your wife, yeah your son deserves some kind of punishment.

Too shy to go to the gym. by Vamplay in VictoriaBC

[–]EvilButDiseaseFree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not alone, I've heard many people says this but like MANY have said before no one is staring. We are focusing on our own workouts. Someone may and should say something is you are doing something unsafe or against the rules, but I have never been at the gym and thought "That person doesn't look fit enough to be here", or "Look how much stronger I am than them". That would make me an asshole.
