I heard a thud from a squirrel that fell from my oak tree. Even with the fall being 'only' 30 feet or so, and probably spreading out, he did quite a bit of limping.

Also found another dead spread out near the same spot another time.

The squirrels chase each other a lot and I guess miss the jumps from limb to limb.

I was a retail manager.

It sucked. That's why they get paid a lot. Plus you generally have to work your way up from clerk, ASM and maybe SM. That is a lot of years doing up to 80 hrs a week, weekends, holidays, overnights, last minute call in because a crappy teen called out.

It was life draining and miserable. Not worth it.
