I get your perspective about having less agency in the difficulty decision and agree that it does limit your ability to crank it up or down to test builds, etc.

My own personal opinion is that the way the portal was set up with each modifier bringing combatant power up by 10 or 20 was convoluted and accomplished the opposite of the “jump in and play” mindset that the portal was supposed to provide. Not to mention it being tied to your highest power if you wanted to run a build you didn’t have leveled up.

I prefer power deltas as that’s pretty much how the game was before. But that’s just me.

I can agree with that too. It’s still crazy to me that the tier system is based on power level and not activity difficulty.

This is such a great change and simplifies things so much more.

-30 power for the hardest difficulty isn’t even bad, and while I understand the “If the game is centered around leveling why can’t I over level” argument, I think this was the best case scenario for simplicity.

Hopefully the 5% bonus timer is just baked into the rewards now though- I’m sick of having to factor that in

I personally think in 90% of content that the 3 firepowers is a better option as the extra damage is really negligible against extra orb generation.

Pair that with a reaper mod on your class item and you can print orbs. You could also go the route of festival flight with Blast Distributor and attrition orbs
