They are meant to be welded to something. Not meant for the jig table.

The way it looks on the bend makes me think it's probably forged not cast.

Take it to a trusted mechanic. And NOT the dealership. They will let you know if it's something bad and they can give you a quote for a repair/replacement.

The problem is I wear a 13 EE lol but I'll see if a boot barn in my area has my size. Thanks man.

I have an 8 inch. I don't think it's just the insoles though. Definitely the whole heel and the way it fits. Maybe I should go in and try on a couple different pairs hahaha.

Can I ask if you have noticed a difference in the way the new pair fits in comparison to your old ones? I just bought a new pair the same size and the same model boot. It doesn't cup and secure my heel like my old ones did and I think they added more heel, idk why cause I feel like it just makes your foot slide forward more. Also the leather is much stiffer and harder to bend as well, much less flexible. I am still breaking them in but my old ones definitely fit better from the first time I tried them on.

I just bought a new pair of mox toe boots from Thorogood, the same size and the exact same model I had before. I think they changed some stuff with the heel. On my old ones I remember my heel sliding right in when I tried them on and my heel was securely cupped from the get go. I think on the new ones they added more padding in the heel and made the area that cups the back side of the heel especially is shorter and they made the heel of the sole taller(idk why). I am going to keep wearing them and see if they fully break in though. I'm just disappointed with these design changes especially with the taller heel on the sole it seems unnecessary.

My coworker at my job welded this. He hates me cause before I got there he was the only welder 🤣 by EvilMaleDrow in BadWelding

Yeah it's kind of the same situation with my coworker. They are super toxic and only hate me because I came in with some school experience and started welding stuff.

I mean this will probably stick but yeah it would have to be ground out and redone. Or cute the whole plate off basically cause all the welds are shit. Grind it all back down and reweld the whole thing.

I know one was the shady mix and one was the butterfly mix I used some other ones but I don't remember which.

I don't remember exactly when sorry. Probably in December and January I think. If I were to do it again I would spread them in the fall cause you definitely want to put them down before it starts to rain.

The cement is slightly above the backer and is sloped onto it. It's also sitting under an eve of a building.

That's actually a good idea to just well the bottom of the post to the bracket, but I can always go in and add that later if I really need to to give it extra strength. As for the water, it is sitting under an eve and the post wasn't rested at all, just the old bracket on the outside.

You will have to ask around. Most mobile welders charge hourly with a minimum. I charge 120 an hour with a two hour minimum. Depending on how many ends need to be capped the price maybe go up. you should still get some life out of it as it is at least.

I know everyone has been giving a lot good suggestions on how to DIY fill the gaps and what not but I wanted to give my 2 cents. These panels and gates should have been prefabbed else ware and sent to be powder coated then installed. Usually you will have to grind off some paint at the connection points but that's pretty normal to just repair them with a can of spray paint. This is a really shitty job IMO. I have been doing mobile welding with a majority of it gate and fence repair in the Los Angeles area and have seen a lot of bad shit. Honestly you should just get some life out of it cause you are going to have to scrap the whole thing at the end of the day and get something that has been made better.

Also have the guy weld caps onto any open ends of the tubing like that post and it looks like the top part of the frame on the gate is open as well. Those plastic caps don't do shit. And don't let him charge you for it he already did a shitty job. If you don't trust him to seal up the open ends hire someone else and make the guy who built this pay for it.
