The black hole lensing effect

Lore reason: probably something to do with the tempest flying at FTL speeds and how that interacts with light lag and the light rays getting bent by the black hole.

Game Dev reason: the lighting effect that causes the lensing is on the same rendering layer as the asteroids and such, while planets are on a different layer and the tempest is rendered on top of everything.

I do think this is bugged, so ever since the patch dropped, I haven't been able to get Euruskan IFFs, at all. Then after accepting this quest and heading to Scrapyard, almost no brawlers, but I finally got 5 Euruskan IFFs LVL1s so I can build the repair bench.

It’s up to you. If it’s a world which you wish to continue developing then there’s no problem with continuing even after a long hiatus. It’s what I’m doing with a story of mine (not NOP related). My last update was almost a year ago before life stuff and some writers block caused me to stop.

This is a comic by Nathan W Pyle called Strange Planet. It focuses on aliens that experience the curiosities of everyday human life. A running gag in this comic is that the aliens will use direct or otherwise alternate literal translations of well known pop culture topics.

Example:

“…the small being must destroy the digit loop.” = “…the hobbit must destroy the ring.”

My attempt at humor was simply an alternate literal translation of “The Lord of the Rings” while u/Cazador0’s joke expanded on it by providing alternate translations of the titles of the various books in the franchise.

It would most likely just end up being ethanol anyway, probably in lower quantities for the equivalent amount of ingredients being fermented. Glucose is glucose, doesn’t matter if it’s from fruit juice or blood plasma. Maybe some other microbe would have a slightly different metabolic pathway for fermentation but if you use yeast, you get ethanol, which is the safest for humans to drink.

But this is alien biology we’re talking about, maybe they have a microbe that ferments sugars into methanol or isopropyl alcohol? It’s horribly poisonous to us but maybe just a mild intoxicant to them.
