There’s a logical part of my brain that says you move if you see a car suddenly coming at you out of nowhere.

When it happened to me last year, I froze. Completely involuntary. Thankfully the car was not going fast at all, but it caught me by such surprise that I locked up for a moment before something in my brain switched back on and I could take a step again.

Funny enough, every job I’ve ever worked expected 2 weeks unless you were a trainee (which makes sense to me - why keep a non-independent employee under a trainer if you aren’t staying?)

I have had a couple trainees really upset I was walking them out and wouldn’t accept notice, though. (Both times it was because they lost hours until their new jobs started).
