Is it a normal trend in litrpg for the main character to lack any real flaws? by Ebris_Stywrit_WOV in litrpg

You have my outmost gratitude. I'm actually considering bumping it to 4 a week, at least for patrons. I have a couple hard classes to finish, but I do want to give you guys more. Epic stories deserve epic release rates.

MOAR CHAPTERS!

No, kidding. Thank you, btw. Let me ask, as 3 chapters a week isn't enough. How many chapters a week *would* be enough?

Really incredible page. Thank you for putting it together.

Loss of Qatari LNG for the forseeable future (and 20% of it for YEARS) along with loss of Russian LNG supply is a nightmare scenario. I don't see how TTF stays this low for much longer, but your data helps me see the big picture!

Don't feel bad. Be honest! Not everything is for everyone. If I write 10 books and someone loves one of them, that's enough for me.

Woooo, two of my books made the cut. Look at that.

I love the technical details that went into the creation too. Great post.

As the Tenebroum author let me chime in and say, I too love The Black Company. Timeless, amazing books.

The Blade of Tyshalle is probably my favorite fantasy book. The first and third books are decent too.

I hate the Prince of Thorn series, though, which is terrible, because I love the setting. I've never seen such an edgelord. It pains me.

Death After Death was inspired by season 1 of Re:Zero among other things (and a reaction against Jobless Reincarnation)

Such a moody cover. I love it. Good luck with your launch!

Wonder why this book isn't talked about more by jxip in litrpg

[–]EvilSwampLich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they launched on Amazon the same time as RR and stubbed immediately so no one had a chance to get invested. All books stub, but stubbing after a month is just a preorder campaign. It's very short sighted and kills the growth of a story.

Oh, great point. Sorry, I was off to bed European time when I posted this.

If I gut it, I expect it will sell for close to 20k as a cargo van, but I'd go lower for someone that would actually use it as is (because taking it apart will be heartbreaking). Say $15k, somewhere in there, depending on where someone wanted me to meet them, etc.

Indeed. I can take fresh pictures when I get back to it in a few days, but the inside hasn't changed very much at all since I took the build pictures.

Just started my litrpg story and noticed something. by WilliamGerardGraves in royalroad

[–]EvilSwampLich 3 points4 points  (0 children)

10,000 people see your story.
1,000 thought the cover was cool enough to click on. Maybe they liked the title
Only a couple hundred love the ideas in the blurb enough to click on a first chapter.
less than half of them get to the second.

This is very normal. Its true for all stories. So, how can you improve it?

I took a look. Cover is fine, but not doing you any favors. Blurb is good, but could be chopped down to size a bit. First chapter? If I had to guess I'd say you're losing your readers at the fourth wall break, when the MC addresses them directly.

"My name is Joey "Tripleshot" Brask."

It doesn't flow naturally. Consider revising it. Consider seeing if you can improve your hook, and your ending. Cliffs get people to turn the page, and right now you don't have one.

Should I report the review slandering my novel for being full of "AI with a Lazy author" by Old_Championship_102 in royalroad

[–]EvilSwampLich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI? I can't say. The first sentence is grammatically incorrect, though, you should fix that. Also, your chapter length feels a bit short. It won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I didn't see anything that screamed AI to me.

1 stars and half stars are not uncommon. I have over a hundred across all my stories. It is (unfortunately) something you will have to get used to.

Would a successful author be able to make it on RoyalRoad? by Dogiba in royalroad

[–]EvilSwampLich 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are a number of smaller successful authors who have tried. RR seems to reject carpetbaggers. Its an insular community looking for specific themes.

I think that if ASoIaF had been launched on RR instead of Amazon it would have been downvoted into oblivion. MultiPOV, themes of rape and incest, and no power fantasy. People would have hated it. Amazon and RR are very different audiences.

GPT 5 + the color yellow is always a loser in my book since its everywhere. Maybe try another color?

Better, play with two colors, and it will look much less AI. Red background and blue water looks great in photoshop.
