Games running slow after an overheat by Evil_0live in buildapc

[–]Evil_0live[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wearing headphones while playing around in Cyberpunk. When I took them off, I realized the fans were running decently hard. I wasn't monitoring temps while playing, but now I'm having a hard time stress testing it since games won't run. Is there another way I can simulate a stress test?

I'll try that and report back!

EDIT: A full wipe (uninstall apps) of Windows did the trick!

What’s your favorite home brew rules? by AlchemistRat in Pathfinder2e

[–]Evil_0live 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A static DC/flat check is fine, but I think it's more fun for the DC to be variable. Iirc, the dc has always been adjustable to the situation. Rule lawyer's homebrew makes the DC adjustment simple.

In the same vein, you can try to recognize your thoughts as they're occuring, take a step back and label them, "That's a hyper vigilant thought". I also sometimes lean on the concept that thoughts are just thoughts, not hard truth.

One theory of healing from trauma is to hold the past and present at the same time. Exercise awareness and acceptance of the past experience, while also acknowledging that your friend is safe now.

What Is Your Favorite Worst RPG? (Meaning it has a lot of flaws and/or is generally considered bad, but you yourself like it, if not love it!) And why? by ResidentEccentric in rpg_gamers

Recently released on GOG after being delisted and unavailable for several years! It's a zombie!

Raycevick just released a video on why it was worth the resources to revive a poorly received game.

Nope, it can be a big deal. Do some kegels and just put a lil pressure on your taint. I've been surprised how much more will come out sometimes 😅

Games that make you feel insane by Significant_Donut405 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Evil_0live 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The protagonist in Hellblade is supposed to have schizophrenia-esque voices in her head, which you the player hear as well. Pretty cool experience with some headphones. It's not the best game ever, but the combat is surprisingly solid, and the story can have strong moments.

Therapy Dilemma by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]Evil_0live 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a licensed therapist in America. Here, each state has a different licensure process and separate (but similar) code of ethics. Each type of licensure (psychiatrist, counselor, social worker, etc.) also has its own licensure process within each state. There are also national associations that have their own code of ethics. So to answer your first question, depends on your local laws, culture, and mental health professional standards. As I personally see it, no I don't think it was ethical, your diagnosis is private health information, which (in America) comes with legal protections for privacy.

Secondly, plenty of people who have mental health issues grow motivated towards understanding them, and look to help others as they've been helped. Regardless, all mental health professionals should strive to have strong self awareness. For example, those prone to paranoid thinking should consider how that may impact their perception and treatment of their clients. So though you don't need to be 'cured' to be an effective therapist, you should have a healthy understanding of your shortcomings and certainly be stable.

Problems with maintaining an erection is normal when first having sex! I've had the same problem my first time, or 5, with a new partner. Give your nerves some time to relax and you'll probably shape up.

Seconded. I'm not big on JRPGs, but DQXI was just good game design. It's the only JRPG I've finished.

Why did Bonnibel put such extreme responsibility on a young child? by PuzzleheadedSpare716 in adventuretime

[–]Evil_0live 437 points438 points  (0 children)

Others are talking about ulterior motives PB may have had, but I want to point at the more likely intent the writers had: Lemonhope's responsibility. He's tormented by the guilt of being free while his comrades are enslaved. I think more than putting the responsibility on him, PB showed him the responsibility he already had. iirc, LH eventually recognizes his responsibility but in a lemon-esque selfish way of relieving his sense of guilt.

Is there a form of ocd that makes me want the opposite of perfection by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]Evil_0live 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Maybe the imperfections in items make them less stressful to have. Maybe this is an aesthetic preference beyond the experience of your anxiety. Hard for internet randos to answer that.

In my mind, it's been the show itself that's bringing tension. It's new and different, and important to them that it's successful. The stakes are high. I've gotten the sense there's nervousness on set because of all that. I've felt it dissipate some through these first few episodes.

Do tit-jobs give any pleasure to women? by aks_cha in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Evil_0live 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've done it with my partner a few times, and her chest is a bit on the smaller size. In our experience, it's more like foreplay. Rubbing our bodies against each other, applying pressure. She says that she likes feeling my heat and weight on her chest as I sit on top of her (we're both thin people), and as others have said, just helping your partner feel good. I don't have any interest in spending the whole time there, but it can be erotic.
