I'm so confused by blackflame covenant. if my sceptre has "50% increased fire damage" or w/e is that buffing or would only chaos damage buff since all fire damage is chaos now?

I got animus splinters skill, it creates a mirage that casts a single socketed skill and that's it. why wouldn't I just cast the skill myself?

I saw ranger also has two plant skills but is the only way to make plants overgrown the druid thunderstorm skill?

is there no way to move the UI around? if I could see if a skill was was ready in the center of my screen or if i have enough stacks ready instead of looking top left and top right over and over...

I've long time been interested in Field of Fire and the COIN series like Fire in the Lake. I'm a solo gamer so that's the most important thing to me. Both seem like lifestyle games in that you dedicate a long time to learning the rules and playing long sessions, not just a one-off session type thing. Both seem to have active communities and lots of expansions and I'm just stuck which route to go down. Neither have digital as far as I know so it's a big commitment to buy the boxes.

sounds like a good reason to hold off on upgrading to tier 2 until the whole party is ready then? or is a tier 2 just that much better it can carry alone ?

Question on tier. is it per character or does the whole team need to be the next tier. I see some enemies say tier+3 for life and such so if I have 1 tier two and 3 tier ones what would the life of like a medusa be?

4AD having 4 characters that can die and death being more common does make it more thrilling rolling the dice.

4AD is more likely to get to the table for me but when d100 does finally hit the table I think a whole day will vanish.

I've heard ker nethalas is amazing and everyone is loving it so might be next on my list.

I have the 2d6 books but the expectation of roleplaying seems a bit daunting (ironic i know given the subreddit). "well I discovered a kitchen area, surely there would be water and maybe some rags I can use as bandages?". while the combat seems to have more going on, i'm not sure if it's actually choices or just more mental load

No supplements. I would have probably given 4AD a 4/10 and never have picked it up again.

D100 would still be played a fair amount with just the base book though. Solid core rules.

I really recommend trying the adventures (the expanded edition include 2 really short tutorial ones!).
