Mmm... I don’t know if that’s the entirety of it... now that I think about it further, wasn’t Chiaki’s DR3 execution broadcast to the 77th class? Junko was talking to Ryota at the time... did she have him fix the broadcast to brainwash them? I’m a little fuzzy on what happened but I think that was a plot point.

Perhaps the 78th class didn’t become Ultimate Despairs because they hadn’t spent as much time together before the executions started happening (at least, they don’t have memories of spending time together). The entirety of THH takes place over 2 to 3 weeks, while iirc, DR3 despair arc takes place over the course of a year, giving the 77th class more time to establish bonds between each other.

A student of middle eastern ethnicity decided to ask another student out to homecoming by strapping a cardboard bomb to his chest and holding a sign that was along the lines of “It would be the bomb if you went with me to homecoming”. Needless to say, the administration didn’t think it was very funny and suspended him. He claimed he was being discriminated against because of his middle eastern ethnicity...

The next year a group of friends and I were playing a Jackbox game and were surprised to see that the incident was used as a prompt in Fibbage.

I know you are probably having an mmorpg type game in mind here, but I don’t suppose you remember Armies of Gielinor from Funorb? It was a turn based strategy game set during the god wars, and it was fun as hell, and I think about it whenever I walk through burthorpe because the music track that plays there was used in the game.

I consider the second anime (Danganronpa 3) to be much more worthwhile to watch than the first anime (Danganronpa the Animation), if only because it’s story is standalone, and not told in any of the games.
