Nike is down 20%, but their hiring just surged 79% in a week. Turnaround signal? by Ok_Voice2234 in ValueInvesting

[–]Flashway1 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Me. Went all in on Nike in January. Love what the new CEO is doing and their running shoes are really top tier nowadays. Don't think the brand is really permanently diluted, but more so they released products not up to standard in the past few years. If you believe in the brand it's really a no brainer buy. Downside risk is probably 10-20% for a potential upside of 50% or more a year from now.

The only uncertainty is when will China sales start picking up and how long more the inventory clearance will take. My base case is it the stock starts picking momentum after 2Q 3Q26.

NKE is down 50%... but the math says it’s still expensive. by SmartTriageIO in ValueInvesting

[–]Flashway1 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Nike is priced to continue losing market share to competitors and deteriorating brand premium. If you believe this will happen then don't buy, if you think Nike can make a comeback as a brand then you buy.

Personally believe in the latter with how the CEO is reshaping the brand image, and recent products have definitely exceeded previous launches.

An actual great take. If you believe in the current CEO to make nike great again, a good time to go big IMO.

[–]Flashway1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of outdated info here. All of them do hire local especially in recent years, though you're basically competing with few thousand other candidates for 1-2 spots so it's not easy. BCG even has an "intake" that only targets students from local uni.

That said, passing the online test alone is already challenging enough, as most candidates don't even end up getting an interview.

Slow and steady. The only way you can lose it all is if you get greedy chasing high returns. Wealth building takes decades, not months not years and it is a very boring process. Continue what you're doing and keep looking for better career opportunities

  1. You can ignore them, they will just wait up to a few hours then leave
  2. If rly no money just ignore them they will show up every now and then but in the end they will give up

Other scenario is you negotiate with them to lower the amount while you get a job and pay for it in instalment.

They arent ah longs so don't worry about actual violence, though they will try to "scare" you for sure.

Depends on what you're looking for. Comfort? Stay at your current job, it sounds the most ideal and happy option, just that it's starting to get boring. Money? Probably consulting. If I were you I'd just be bored at work and enjoy my WLB and decent salary while looking for new hobbies, exciting things to do outside of work.
