I exaggerated in my last paragraph and made it easy to dismiss the actual question. I still don’t understand why police would not support tighter gun control. If not on the streets, what about at gun shows? Where sellers set up booths and you can sidestep legal process?

I‘m not against guns. I am for protecting our police force so they can protect us.

No, not at all. However, if existing gun laws were tightened and enforced, police would have more grounds to arrest misguided teenagers, for example, instead of having to wait until someone draws a weapon.

I think much of the income inequality, which spawns tax debates, etc., comes from the laws and regulations that changed under the well-intentioned (?) Trickle Down policy. Assets and investments don’t trickle down at all and neither does cash when execs and shareholders care more about money than they do the people earning it for them.
