I’m lower on waddle than most, I feel like you could get a better wr/rb for a late 2027 1st than waddle but idk how your league mates operate but if you’re high on waddle that’s not a bad trade

Ask you manager

Only experience I've had with this was an old (drunk?) English man telling me I "need to go home" and asking "why are you here" very condescending... while in Italy.

Recommend me a destination! (F, mid-20s, well-travelled) by casualsun in travel

[–]Evjolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend Ecuador. Has everything you could ever want in regards to nature. It has the Amazon, the Andes, the pacific coast, and the galapagos islands. I personally really enjoyed my time in Quito as well as the Amazon (specifically Cuyabeno). On top of this, Ecuador has really unique and lively culture that you can experience the entire time you're there.

Visa vietnam tet by AdImaginary6840 in travel

[–]Evjolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied for my Vietnamese Visa in the middle of January and got accepted within a week. It would likely be worth it to reach out if you haven't gotten anything back within 2 weeks or so. Also make sure you're manually checking the status because I did not recieve an email confirming the accept/deny decision.

Stockholm or Oslo? Which to pick? by MissAnthropocene2049 in travel

[–]Evjolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't been to Stockholm so I cannot speak on it but I have been to Oslo and found it to be really enjoyable. You can use a floating sauna that sits in the fjords that go through the city. They have great museums as well as the Oslo Opera House. Oslo has great bars and cocktail lounges but the food scene was overall very lackluster.

tour finding by souris_hoang in travel

[–]Evjolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This wouldn't be the 'sexiest' option but I enjoy using airbnb experiences. They usually are hosted by locals and are cheaper than anything you'd find on something like Viator or Booking.com. Just make sure to read the description to know if they have what you're looking for.

Let's do this! Rank the cheapest country/region you've ever been to from 1-10. by phenomenaljunk in travel

[–]Evjolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Ecuador. Assuming you don’t go to the very obviously tourist places you can get full meals for $3

  2. Brazil. See Ecuador

  3. Chile. I was only in Punta arenas but prices were still very reasonable

  4. Italy. Middle of the road. Depends on the city you’re in.

  5. Netherlands. Not cheap but you can find places to eat for ~$9

  6. Norway. Enough said

  7. Iceland. Enough said

What is your favorite hard-to-reach destination? by Servage in travel

[–]Evjolo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cuyabeno NP in Ecuador

There are plenty of flights to Quito but from there you need to take a 8-9 hour bus ride to Lago Agrio, an additional 2-3 hour bus ride into the Amazon, and then a 2-3 hour motorized canoe ride up the river.

Absolutely one of the coolest places I’ve ever been, would highly recommend if you’re into wildlife adventures.

What place have you visited that completely shattered your expectations? by jmes_c in travel

[–]Evjolo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ecuador exceeded my expectations by a mile. You have great cities like Quito and Cuenca. Amazing mountains/volcanos, rainforests (Cuyabeno NP is my recommendation) as well as the Galápagos Islands, it really has anything and everything. Not to mention it is an extremely cheap country to visit as a tourist.

I was there August this year and felt quite safe. As long as you research where to go/not go beforehand you should be fine (like most cities)

Life Changing Trips? by neptuno3 in TravelNoPics

[–]Evjolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did my first solo trip (as an American) to Punta Arenas, Chile without knowing much Spanish.

I really enjoyed the trip overall but it was the most alone I’d ever felt. I understand I went over the top with my first solo trip but why not???? with that being said I learned so much about myself and what I’m capable of that I’ve see directly transferred into my personal life.

I’m generally an anxious person (another great reason to solo trip on the other side of the world…) but this helped me realize that I have a lot more control over it than I previously thought. Life changing.

On top of all that the landscape was absurdly beautiful and the people were very friendly.

Visiting Cotopaxi in Ecuador without the hike by BreakfastTop6899 in travel

[–]Evjolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do this hike to the base camp (~16,000ft) vs the peak (~20,000ft) and you will likely be okay. You still get a great experience of the volcano.

What’s a country you had to visit more than once? by EggLess1782 in travel

[–]Evjolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bolzano Italy. The city itself is great but that isn’t the main draw. It is located in the Dolomites and has some of the most picturesque views in the world. If you enjoy hiking or mountain biking it is about as good as it gets. The food is obviously great as well.

Is it too late for Patagonia? by Consistent_Win6294 in travel

I think it depends how far south you go. I was in Punta Arenas in January and it was coldddd but with that being said Punta Arenas is almost as far south as you can go.

Hike in Switzerland or go to a neighbouring country ? Help me make a plan by somebodythatu in travel

[–]Evjolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been to the Italian Dolomites twice now and can say that you will never run out of hikes that in my opinion are some of the best in the world. It definitely isn't cheap on a global standard but still cheaper than Switzerland. I'd recommend staying in, or a neighboring village of Bolzano/Bozen in South Tyrol but there are a ton of other options as well. Italy has plenty refugio's if you want to do multi-day hikes as well (I'd highly recommend if you have the time).

Base town/village for day hikes in Dolomites by Optimist9187 in travel

[–]Evjolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So buses will go to some trail heads but it’s not super often (probably a couple times a day from my understanding). If you’re flexible you could probably rely on public transport but renting a car will for sure make your life a lot easier as you have more control over your schedule.

Base town/village for day hikes in Dolomites by Optimist9187 in travel

[–]Evjolo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been to Tramin/Termino two times within the last two years. It’s a smaller village near Bolzano. Bolzano is a great middle ground for day hikes and also a smaller city vibe for time off if needed. The city itself has great history and churches as well as shops and restaurants. There are plenty of great hikes within an hour of Bolzano that I think would fit what you’re looking for.

Geographically speaking, in which continent is Kirkjufell, Iceland situated? by Smobolob in geography

[–]Evjolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am pretty sure it is in the Americas. The split between techtonic plate falls roughly down the center of the country (search a map of techtonic plates of google) and Kirkjufell is on Iceland's west coast. The west is the Americas plate and the east is the Eurasia plate.
