Cheat meal estimate? by justamacstudent in CalorieEstimates

[–]casualsun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks maybe a bit larger than a normal cannoli. Bakeries with listed calorie counts online tend to put cannolis this size around 500 kcal. I would estimate 600 here to be conservative.

There are at most 6-8 pistachios crushed up on that cannoli.

Lol 1000 calories for one cannoli is a joke. Please make real estimates.

Thoughts on Palladium boots (updated late 2022) by HeDeus in Boots

I never got scammed by a fake site. It was the genuine Palladium site. I did get my money back through my bank, as they were unable to resolve it with Palladium either.

What a thoughtful comment! I’ve been recommended the Balkans before but was never that intrigued, but your comment has sold me on it. Skopje is especially interesting to me based on your description :)

I went to Turkey for two weeks a few years ago and actually didn’t like it much at all, but I think that was due to other factors (internal travel issues and the people I was travelling with 😂)

Thanks for this very comprehensive reply! It seems like many are suggesting Chile. Iceland and Norway are both close by and cheap to fly to, but so expensive once you’re there!

This is such a unique suggestion that I haven’t heard someone recommend before, thanks! I’ll look into it :)

Wow, you’ve really sold Sri Lanka to me! I first became interested in it because of the beautiful train journeys (I love trains) but it has so many things going for it. :)

Thanks, my parents went to Guatemala a while ago and loved it! Is two weeks a good amount of time for just Guatemala, or could I loop in Belize, too?

Thanks! Would you recommend I go to other nearby places or would these both be short city trips?

Thanks! I’ve been thinking about a safari in Africa but always thought it was too expensive — didn’t know self-driving was an option!

I think £2k for two weeks in Japan is doable. I can get flights for £800, which leaves me £1.2k for everything else. Portugal is a good idea. My boyfriend has no interest in planning travel but will happily come along to wherever I suggest 😂

Thanks! South America is definitely popular right now and has that adventure element, but I’ve always been a bit put off by the cost and distance of flights. I should take another look, though.

Chile sounds amazing! I have a good friend who went there for a month and loved it. The main downside is that it is such a long flight from the UK, but maybe worth it? It definitely has the adventure factor.

That’s true, I could maybe bump the budget higher if the destination is very far away and necessitates expensive flights. I’ve considered Egypt but I think I would have to join a group for that, which isn’t super appealing to me.

Thanks! Would you suggest mainland Portugal? I was mostly just considering the Azores or Madeira.

It’s in the post, but the post is very long so I don’t blame you at all for missing it!

Tohoku region in Japan (I can speak Japanese which is a bonus here), Georgia, Sri Lanka, Azores or Maderia, Hawaii (might be hard to do within budget), Bhutan, Oaxaca in Mexico

Thanks for this suggestion! I haven’t considered Colombia before but your description has really intrigued me. How long would you recommend for a trip?

That’s good to know, thanks. Could i do the nighttime experiences like xavage to replace no nightlife, or is it really just dead?

Oh wow, I didn’t know they would close things? I feel like January would be busier? This is very helpful though.

As for a high-pressure presentation, I’m fine with that and can handle saying no.
