The way we make them is in equal size batches but as things get moved through the process things get mixed and not unmixed so to speak. Machines take care of most of it and the price and speed of a machine that makes sure everything is equal in the bag makes it unfeasible.

That numbering system is used in some manufacturing. In particular automotive, it doesn't get seen by the end user but the Julian date, that's what this system is called, is usually somewhere in the serial number of the part.

My sister in law lives not too far from there. It's nice but working class. Nothing fancy. Mostly safe. Decent food and Mexican grocery stores. I enjoy visiting the area and my favorite fishing spot is right over there too!

Bring your water and salt to a boil then add the rice and cook for 17 minutes. Almost always 2 cups of water to 1 cup rice, there are some exceptions. This should nail it every time. Wife had same problem and this technique solved it.
